Anyone have problems with namecheap lately?
I topped up with $50 to register some domains. When I attempted to register the first one it wouldn't go through so when I contacted them they said the domain name had words that triggered its bad list and could not be registered so I asked to get my money back. They claim they started a reversal which was 14 days ago so when I asked the other day around 5 days after they said "it takes 7 to 10 days." Now it is 14 days and no money yet and now they're telling me up to 30 days. And when I showed them the item on my bank account as proof it went through they said it had the wrong descriptor for my account and that wasn't the same transaction. wtf? It's the only $50 transaction I've ever spent there. I will be looking for a new domain host so if you have any notable companies who have treated you well, please let me know. I have been a namecheap customer for almost 12 years or so I think. I'll be moving both my vanilla businesses and adult businesses. This is ridiculous.
Thanks! |

You have a couple of options. Either insist that it be escalated to management immediately, giving them X number of days to confirm that the refund/reversal was processed with your bank, or else you will manage to file a complaint with your bank directly that should result in a chargeback to the merchant. Either way good luck! |
I've seen this issue before, they have a blacklist of terms that cannot be registered. Easiest thing to do is just register the domain with another registrar once you get your refund.

Sorry yeah I guess you found out they don't allow any felching domains. Don't throw out all that content you shot. Just go to another register. .

Trademark and "likeness" issues. Basically they are helping you avoid being sued for owning a infringing domain. :2 cents: |
...Dispute the charge through your bank...
