What will you be doing now that Google destroyed FREE TRAFFIC due to AI-powered results?
Did you see the new OVERVIEW that Google's AI-powered search results have?
Even if sites managed to dodge the March Traffic Armageddon update, they will still get crushed by lower CTR Google's PR team is saying CTRs went up due to the design I doubt it. Maybe to big media platforms. Small indie publishers? I don't think so. Besides, trusting Google about the impact of their updates is like trusting Jeffrey Dahmer to cook you a vegan sandwich at his place. You'd be better off making money off free AI or free crypto than traditional online publishing Where's the money with less effort? Use AI for designs and pump into Etsy and other Print on Demand platforms. Look up software on how to expedite this. Use AI to generate low content KDP books and publish on Amazon KDP. Search online for free tools to do this. Turn your time into free crypto by doing airdrops like Fukuku, CozyPepe, and other free airdrop cryptos on the Solana chain. Free platforms like Zealy crypto has made this all easier to do so you turn more of your spare time into free crypto. Find up and coming Youtube channels' contact info and categorize them into niches. Go to video game publishers, Kindle publishers, affiliate marketers looking for influencer deals and BE A BROKER. Cost? Zero. My point is there are many ways to make money online with ZERO to LOW cost. If you have time and a connection to the WEB, the only limit is your imagination and will power. Online publishing powered by free organic search traffic is FAST becoming a relic of the past. DIVERSIFY NOW and SCALE Up what works. The best part? You only need TIME and CURIOSITY not CASH. |
Loosening the dependency on Google was the best thing I ever did... there's lots of other places to get traffic.

(Just kidding. You are correct of course.) PS: Some good examples in the OP's post. :thumbsup |
Time to learn a trade. I could use a good plumber on the team.

Like I said, time for y'all to learn a trade. I could use another carpenter on the team too.

Google has been working hard to funnel more clicks to ads instead of to actual content for 5 years now since Prabhakar Raghavan took over Search.

- hand out flyers at the mall - hire those sign juggling guys that hang out on busy roads - buy ads in the local paper - door to door marketing - coupons you can cut out of cereal boxes Goddamn I’m good at this! |
Most of you should have the email addresses of your customers.... Time to start email marketing.

I rely on 100% type-in traffic

I don't think SEO is dead necessarily if you're selling a product directly.
For affiliates, I've seen enough case examples of their traffic getting absolutely obliterated since the HCU with no recoveries whatsoever no matter what the site owners did. Replaced with Reddit, Quora, spam and scrape sites, and more Google ads. The writing is on the wall. Their AI powered search will take your content, produce an answer based on that content, without the user needing to click on your site. I'm not buying that crap with higher CTR, why would they continue clicking if they already got the answer. |

You can't just post a picture and video clip and hope for the best, you need to somehow make a long ass text description of it to make Google happy. That's where AI can benefit affiliates.
Old tube site descriptions aren't going to be enough to rank anymore. You've got to take that one paragraph description and make it 500+ words. |
You can also be a VOICE PIMP
Find people with great voices, hire them to do a 10 minute pre read "natural" speech, get signed releases (like you do with models) Turn around and turn these into AI VOICE CLONES which you can plug into TTS software. |

I started my shit on traffic trades and that's probably how it will end too. When SEO became king, I just opened more and more sites each year until I could funnel traffic to myself indefinitely.
|
Over the past decades Google has screwed us over so many times (mostly on normal mainstream stores FYI), it does not surprise me at all.
That said: i see the discussions elsewhere where people mention if nobody makes websites anymore, they have no content to scrape. I've been in these discussions as a coder as well, having been on StackExchange a.o. since forever, those are now completely taken over by OpenAI. Not sure where all this is going. |

Can anyone here name the top 5 most visited websites they use? me: indeed udio youtube gfy That's it... other than TheYNC and a couple other gore sites for doing research for my anti-war novel... websites are fucking dead these days. Oh and sometimes I visit reddit for local news stories... that's it man. Back in the days of STILEPROJECT, I had like 30+ sites bookmarked and I would visit... newgrounds, somethingawful forums, car forums, tech forums, overclocking forums, etc etc... |

Traffic is being funneled to a few big sites that the AI companies can scrape. Big deals are being made. Project 2025 will handle any leftovers if the polls are accurate (they're not, but still)
Time for y'all to become electricians or mechanics. Choke it on OnlyFans... something. |

I believe the Shelf life of a magazine was at one time like 7 years or something. Meaning people put them in offices and places and they stayed a LONG time. And the only people that typed it in wanted to know more. Not a blind click like you buy from a ton of traffic sites. |

If you're talking about top 5 sites during Covid 1) GFY 2) XBiz 3) Netflix/Disney 4) Facebook (no real Twitter or Insta) 5) Google Analytics/Google Search Console Mind you back in the day we had so many other choices like 1994 to 2005 1) over 35 different webmaster boards all active (was moderator on several) 2) MySpace 3) Limewire 4) MSN Chat (the industry mainly used ICQ and IRC) 5) Club Penguin along with Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards |
Risky but maybe effort needs to be put into one website (brand) instead of spreading efforts on multiple small websites. From what I see, big sites mostly survived.
Also, after a while, big number of websites will just die so there is some chance to gain positions then. Alternative search engines, email marketing, social media, maybe even PPC. |

Not going to produce new material just to have it aiscraped.
Since I remember Sunday papers, landlines, and magazines...maybe the game will go full circle. >>Prabhakar Raghavan took over Search.<< And this. Figures. |
Traffic decline is just getting worse for low quality content sites

Now in my fifties, and still some way from having enough to retire, while having sufficient not to be under any short-term or even medium-term financial pressure. So not sure whether to plough on and hope things improve whilst living within a budget, or take the plunge and use some of my funds to invest in something else. Retraining for a new career in your fifties is close to impossible, never mind with the uncertainties and disruption that AI will bring. Plumbing will be safe though. :thumbsup |
I finally managed to land a steady gig with long-haul movers and these jobs pay a "daily minimum" whether there are 100+ boxes or 1 box, yesterday we had a couple elevator loads of boxes and made $200 in less than 45 minutes... felt like the early days of uploading a MILFhunter gallery and having 5 NastyDollars sales in under an hour, with equal amounts of men grunting.
Still got plans to work online, but I need to secure the money I need first. Just gotta make sure my daughter has a nice summer with me! |

Gotta get my car fixed by July 7th-ish because I know my daughter loves to ride in the back with her hair blowing in the wind!(Her birthday is in early July and I know she'll be super happy to go for a drive to Splashdown park in it!) Got it towed to the property I live on, now just gotta move mo' boxes and get the parts ordered! |
Right now, the overview can be reset to default by users. Will it be permanent in the future?
