amazed no one mentioned the Spain & Portugal blackout
Just thought iīd say, was so scary!
Electric went out, phones went down, no wifi, no communication at all. So, letīs go outside, OMG... no ATM, nothing opened, shops closing, nothing happening, no one around & everything deserted... then neighbours come back from further afield, been out, but the same, and this means this isnīt local... Brain ticks, is this the Alicante region, Spain or worldwide? I can tell you from the gecko, it makes you think it could be a worldwide invasion! For hours, we actually packed bags, grabbed essentials & got ready for war, we didnīt know what was going on... was a nightmare! :2 cents: |
WOKE policies seems to be a real success :upsidedow
|
Another win for green energy. :thumbsup
Now imagine the power the government will have over you when all cars are electric and all payments only digital. |
Nobody cares about those medieval places . . .
|
Gonna be fun when this starts happening more often.
|
Spain has electricity?
|
This happened in Northern California once, about 1995 or so. It happened to be on the day that we were driving from Norcal to Socal and we had no idea if we would be able to buy gas on the way down.
|
Lots of people in the States are still trying to get the blacks out...
|
i cunt a4d2 mention the Spain & Portugal blackout... :(
|
There's a pic of the King smiling going into an emergency meeting. Priceless. Doesn't give a fuck.
Anyway, that's why cash and candles. |

but most of all, proved, as some have mentioned, how a country needs to have other means of transport, no matter what the consequences & cash is always reliable, hard currency, not electronic. Still now, makes me wonder if it was something more than a power flux to put 2 countries out of power. Does make me laugh, i read : Spain was putting power into other countries while was out of power for itself :upsidedow :1orglaugh And those saying stupid comments of "Spain with electric" lol... Spainīs ahead of most countries, now on reliable renewable energy, solar & wind, now working on over 50%, more than most, so very adaptable! Letīs not also forget, the power & communications were online just 12 hrīs later. Hoping this doesnīt happen to other countries, it would take a lot longer to see a light or have phone communication back :thumbsup |
OK; but why not admit that people with gas cars drove around to pick up their friends to
bring them over and cooked on a charcoal grill. :2 cents: |
Dont think anyone really cares when they are too busy trying to pay their bills

Doesn't take much to put us out of balance. Imagine if those power outs lasted. All our resources tied up in bits and bytes on offline servers.
Even here in the outskirts of SEA I've come accustomed to using apps only. But you also keep a healthy amount of cash in your house in case you accidentally do something where officials needs to be convinced that you didn't. |

I heard billions were lost in just that one day, I lost a days wage from cam & other stuff :2 cents: |
the bigger and more diverse the network is the more these blackouts will occur worldwide, it's "simple" math... we had a physicist in our country who predicted these blackouts like a decade ago already (and many other foreseeable future events)... unfortunately he died a few years ago

Always interesting to hear a first hand account of something like this. Thanks for posting. |
You could of just tuned on the radio, they were reporting on it the whole time and within 20 minutes or so of it happening you pretty much had the whole picture (apart from who's fault it was)

still thinking it was something a bit bigger than some storm fronts & France just knocking the electric off, especially when Spain was still supplying to France & Tunisia at the time :2 cents: And wondering how long the radio would have lasted if their generators run dry :2 cents: |

we had no reception with phones, nothing, no lebara, no wifi, no phone communication at all????? as said, did go to the car after thinking about radio & did get radio, but the phone had nothing, no satellite communication, showed offline and couldnīt get nothing |

it was dead from no satellites :thumbsup |
Obama movie: Leave the world behind. My favorite part was when Ethan Hawkes character had to decide what to do when that women was begging for help on the side of the road. He probably had a 800+ credit score, an advanced degree, donated to charity etc but when it comes right down to it he is just a selfish piece of shit. So when this happens in your country and people like his character are begging you for help dont think twice about kicking them in the teeth. Smug bastards. I would help that woman. Looked like she was the help at one of the local homes.
