it said the way things are going by the year 2010
45 million more people will have HIV

I heard the government made hiv back in the 60's, and released it in new york, africa, and a few other places targeting african americans and homosexuals ...it was an interesting story, ill find the link and post it here later

Yep, few years ago more people with HIV died than people that contracted it. Well guess what, we have medicines now that let you live with it for much longer. So instead of an equal or greater number of people with HIV dying more and more people have it every year. Oh joy.

i used to do a lot of HIV education work. I have a theory that part of the reason condom usage amongst younger groups in the US and UK is dropping again is that with modern drug treatments we now have a generation of people in the US and UK that have never actually seen a loved one die of AIDS, never had the horrid images on their tv screens unless it is framed as something that happens in far off Africa. In short, they aren't scared anymore.

well, they did clinical trials on AIDS patients from jail in Russia. And after the treatment, the HIV virus was not detectable and their T cell count was up. So I am guessing it is one of the most good treatments for AIDS patients today.

Na, it's been discovered in the Republic of Armenia and I don't think it will be offered in the States in any time soon. But they have a big clinic there for foreigners. I think Magic Johnson was thinking of going there.

Quite frankly, HIV will do more good to Africa than it will bad.

It will HOPEFULLY teach these africans to start using the condoms the aid works give them and not to have 20 kids.

I heard on TV, Nigeria has 120 million people in it with about 90% of them under the povety line with only 1 meal a day. And they have lots of OIL bringing in billions a year. If it was a normal Europeon country with a sustainable population it would be a great country. But instead they breed and breed and breed some more till they can't susstain themselfs and then we start seeing them on TV asking for money.

Well it's not that easy to stop breeding. I did a project on this in college, on India's population. I mean take China, it took a long time and strict policies, before they could contain their population. Poverty always correlates with having lots of kids. The mother and the father being poor, have lots of kids, so they can support them when they get older. Also the lack of counterseptives and condoms, leads to this.

I have to agree with him and I have a Master's in Biology. Whenever there is a population boom, which is occuring in Africa, there is some natural way of controlling it. Same thing applies to the animal kingdom. I know it is cruel, but hey thats nature.

Armenia has a big HIV clinic that is so popular that Magic Johnson is going to go to it? Where do you come up with information like this?

I do not come up with any kind of information, the drug is called Armenicum and the website is http://www.armenicum.am. And Micahel Johnson, indeed was planning to go to Armenia and try this new drug. I do not know if he actually went, but there was a news article about it. What's this post have to do with my previous post? I certainly do not see the connection here.

As for the population and HIV, I did not say population boom created HIV, stop creating things and calm down. How do you think the population for example of deers are contained in the wild? More lions and tigers are born, cause there is lot of food, meaning deer. Then the deer population decreases towards its equilibrium. Same thing goes for humans, except we cant release lions to prey on humans, so the nature have HIV virus, influenza virus and other disease causing microbes to contain the human population. I know it is cruel and unusual to think this way, but thats how nature works. Try to think out of the box for a change :winkwink:

Read the intro on the clinic in Armenia..and they are touting Iodine as something that stops HIV. Interesting..but don't know of many main stream docs that will sign off on that.

My very first post on this was in reply to someone who had written that this is nature's way of thinning the herd..hiv that is.
And it bothers me that so many people seem to take HIV very lightly. It is a very dangerous killer that NEED NOT BE. Thus my opposal to lightly throwing around the phrase "hiv is nature's way of thinning the herd."

Of course death & disease comes from nature, but it is NOT natural or nature specific for the body to behave the way it does when infected with hiv. That is MY point, and to date, no one will acknowledge that.

The hiv virus is very similiar to SIV (Simian) virus that monkeys have. And the consensus of opinion seems to be that somewhere, the virus cross jumped species from monkeys to man.
An infected monkey bit a human or someone ate infected monkey. (YUCK! grin)

If nothing else comes out of this thread, I just hope more and more people who read this becomes more enlightened and/or educated about hiv.

P.S. I truly do not think Magic Johnson is going to this clinic in Armenia to be treated with iodine for his hiv.

For one thing, his viral load has been undetectable for years now and is in very good health.

Iodine does not kill hiv.
