You should keep all your domains in LOCKED mode.

I feel your pain, but cannot help you.

I can only tell you that you might be able to get it back if you handle it right.
It can even happen otherwise - someone buys a domain, but after few months the previous owner claims it was stolen and gets it back.

That is a no shit type of comment. They all were except this one, which I did not know about until just now. Just took over this stuff this month, and it did not occure to me to check to make sure the domain was in locked mode.

Can not go into tons of detail just yet, yes I got it back. There is hell to pay for a company (hence lack of details).

No I did not forget to renew it, it was regged up until 2004 nearly 2005 anyways before this fiasco.


Despite a blackout on the east coast, despite it being after 5pm est on east coast, and despite it being a friday it happened.

I had reclaimed ownership by 7:30pm pst or 9:30pm est.

http://www.active-domain.com a company I never use, former webmaster had it registered there. I just took over operations and had not moved it before it was jacked.

Interesting. Well congrats on getting it backed so fast, that would suck if you got screwed out of it. And good luck with whatever actions you may be taking against the assholes who did it.
