I have it too, but probably not as bad as you do. Just a circle in my vision field, about half an hour, headache and nausea thereafter. A paracetamol helps for me. i used to be very reluctant with medicines, but since I started studying medicine I'm not afraid to use it ;)

I get 'em, and they suck ass.
Pop a few Excedrin Migraine geltabs - they seem to do the trick.

I have had them for about 15 years now (had 1 Sat)...and they are the worst thing ever! I have had so many tests and MRI's etc. I have been on every pain killer and shot there is. The best thing that I have found is Aleve. I take 3 and the migraine is completely gone anywhere from 15 mins. to an hour later.

Hope you feel better!

Try not drinking any caffeine (Coke, Coffee, Chocolate) for a couple weeks and see if they go away. It worked for me. Also some kinds of cheese trigger them for me.
I quit taking any caffeine and I only get one about once every 6 months now instead of more than once a week.

:thumbsup

i used to have a migraine prescription back in the day, i 'think' it was called 'cafergot' or something like that. Anyway, main ingredient in it I believe was caffeine... go figure.

Nowadays I get the symptoms more so of the actual headache, except today, I kinda feel a little pain. When I was in my teens it was the worst... headache, nausea...

I had the same thing. I was put on a strict diet (no caffeine, no msg...3 pages of things I could not have), but they did give me caffeine pills to take if a headache started!

chiropractor has done wonders for me...

i went through the migraine thing for a couple years... sometimes i could do nothing but lie in a dark room. but i had a friend who gave me a piece of advice no one else gave me, and it really worked:

put a HOT towel or pack on your forhead, covering as much as you can. i also tried this on my temples. make sure it won't blister you, but make sure it is hot, not merely warm. it works amazingly, but you end up with a red rectangle on your forehead. i'd do this for the time it would take two folder towels to get cool, and could begin to function. with the worst migraines, at least i could go out of the dark and move around.

btw, after several doctors and many friends telling me sinuses caused migraines, brain problems or other things, i left my extremely stressful situation and never had another full blown migraine again EVER, and it's been over ten years.

I have had migraines since I was about seven, going on twenty years now, I had MRI's done and when I was young my doctors prescribed me a migraine pill to take once a day for a year that really curbed them, where before I was missing school and getting them every week and they would last three days or more, they were getting serious. I hate them, they subsided for awhile but now are coming back, any kind of orange cheese seems to trigger them in people and caffeine, every doctor will tell you to keep a journal of what you eat every day and when you get the headaches and you will see a pattern, then you can fix it from there.

Also my doctor told me that heat helps a ton! It brings the blood flow back into your head because that is also a problem, the blood is not flowing correctly, if you immerse yourself in the hottest water you can stand, it helps a lot. If your out, run your hands under really hot water for a few minutes, and your good to go for a bit, and like basschick said, the hot water on a towel on the back of your neck and temples work, sorry for the long post.
