Ok to hell with it...I am trying Firefox.

After seeing more and more people giving them good reviews, I am going to download it. Anything I should know?

dready 09-01-2004 06:53 AM

Gheenz 09-01-2004 07:02 AM

I've always used IE even when Firefox first came out, but after v.0.9.3 came out, I've switched and haven't used IE for a thing since.

Firefox Rocks! :thumbsup

cfU 09-01-2004 07:02 AM

congrats! i am a huge fan of ctrl-T now

Enema 09-01-2004 07:08 AM

Anyone know how you can get FireFox to open links before the page has finished loading without having to ctrl+click?

Annoying.

ctrl-t opens a new browser in a tab in the current window so you don't have to have multiple windows open to surf multiple sites. ctrl-tab switches between those tabbed windows.

also download the google bar, google page rank plugin and the flash blocker if you feel so inclined.

Sorry downloaded Firefox over a month ago still using IE. Don't see any advantages with fireFox. If anything slows me down

Preacher 09-01-2004 07:18 AM

I use Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove known security holes in IE ... this way I never have any problems. :2 cents:

dready 09-01-2004 07:18 AM

Make sure you add a 'New Tab' button to your toolbar. Don't know why it doesn't do that by default. And if you make the toolbar use small icons it makes everything real nice and clean.

Firefox... there is nothing better and it's not even v1.0 yet!

so you think. don't forget the keyloggers that they don't pick up

cayne 09-01-2004 07:21 AM

You will like it, esp. when you used IE before.

way too many exploits in IE. i just reinstalled my os yesterday (took me 10 hrs to get my pc back to normal) because my browser was hijacked and then my computer as a whole.

this is, i never open attachements and i never download anything. i had virus protection and ad ware removal and i was behind a firewall. it was a nightmare.

the only thing i dont like about firefox is the favorites folder. i have to scroll rather then having the pane to the left but i will get over that.

You are entitled to your opion, but I still don't like it.

MetaMan 09-01-2004 07:33 AM

my IE is 100% owned, i have been using mozilla for about 3 months now, i hated it at first but now it runs fast as fuck on my comp, way more stable than IE, im not sure why everyone doesn't use it yet.

extreme 09-01-2004 07:51 AM

I never use CTRL+T, just write the url you want in the current urlfield and press ALT+Enter instead of just Enter.
