Attention Style Sheet Gurus
 

Here is one of my sites, http://easysex.org , that uses a basic style sheet. The style sheet code for this page is ignored in Netscape 4.72, even though it is suppose to read style sheets. Any ideas on how to get it working with NS?

It works on 4.08 for me. All the text is sans serif - including the text not marked as arial.

Are you sure that you have style sheets enabled?

Did you test the netscape version on the mac? If so, try adding helvetica to the list. I know you shouldn't have to, but try it anyway.

If not or that doesn't work - try changing it to just [style] - I substituted [] for <>.

Technically, what you have is 100% correct. But I'd give the above a try if you still are having problems. However, unless you are planning on changing things, you should only need to use the following:

[style][!--
body {font-family: arial,sans-serif;}
//--][/style]

Change the [] to <> and you should be fine.

Netscape is used very rarely....
Even unix user perer mozilla browser.

Thanks for the info. I think it must just be my install of Netscape 4.72 that is not working with style sheets, I do have them enabled.

About Netscape usage - it is still significant, here are some stats from one of my Cashcount counters:

I know how you feel - I have spent hours trying to get stuff to work on netscape - usually something involving complex tables.

You are right not to ignore them, it isn't many, but it's enough.
