Viruses on Morpheous
 

I downloaded some software from Morpheous yesterday which contained about 4 viruses. I cant remember the names but it sure fucked my hard drive until I was able to delete them and then reinstall the uninfected files. Apperantly downloading software from Morpheous is an almost guarantee you will get a virus but downloading mp3's is not a problem.

Anyone have any experiences from Morpheous

I haven't had any problems, there have been some files that tired to 'trick' you into downloading them. with .mp3(lots of spaces) and then a .exe ... so if you'd double click it it would run, so just notice those and you'll be fine. I have had no problems with it.

I don't know about Morpheus, but you should be careful with software from Kazaa... A couple of warez webmasters have put lots of virus-infected files on upload as a revenge for Kazaa's/Ezula's defacing of their sites with yellow links and theft of traffic.

Morpheus uses the exact same program and db as Kazaa.

sigh...to be technically correct you get nothing from Morpheus but connections.
P2P means "point to point" (or more commonly known as person to person).

If you acquired anything, mp3 or *.exe, it was from another user connected via Morpheus.

If you downloaded an illicit *.exe and ran it before virus checking the application
then you got exactly what you need....a kick in the reality. Knock knock, HELLO!
