Good Carribean Resorts For Families?

Could you guys suggest any great resorts in the Carribean for families? Last year we went down to the Bahammas and has a blast! We stayed at the Raddison on Cable Beach. This year we are looking to go down to the Carribean around Feb/Mar.

My mother suggested Cuba, however I have never been there and I don't know the quality of resorts. Can anyone suggest some great family resorts in the carribean?

Thanks,
DH

Took the family to Paradise Island, Bahamas and we stayed at the Atlantis Resort. Wow what an amazing place. At the time my daughter way barely a year and a half, but we had a blast!

I have been there several times now but that was the only "family trip" I have taken and it worked out great! I recomend it highly as there is so much to see and do right at the resort. I have stayed as long as 8 days and still didn't run out of things to do!

:2 cents:

The Atlantis is an AMAZING resort, however I am bringing with me my fiance, son, mom and dad.

Hence taking 5 people to Atlantis will be 10K plus for 4 days and much more for 7 days.

I'm not trying to be a cheapo, just trying to be practical ;)

Ahhh thats cool! And you are right it would be 10K at least! Yikes!

Ya know there is a sister resort that is right next to Atlantis. I kept meeting people at the pool that were staying there. They said it was a fraction of the price (not as swanky) and yet they had access to the pool a recreation areas of Atlantis!

Wish I could help out with the name of it..............but I can't. Might be worth a look!

have fun where ever you go! I will be at the Atlantis the week after Vegas Internext! Can't wait!!!!!

You can't go wrong with Dominican Republic. Me and my good friend was there 3-4 years ago. They had shows for the kids every day. All inclusive so you get food, drinks etc :thumbsup

Odd, you seemed to have all the money in the world when I saw you heading for the whorehouse in Cura.... ooops, I mean, yeah, times are tough man, no need to get all extravagant at Atlantis!

Geez, man's gotta save for the important things in life!

just kidding dh
Atlantis really does rock, its worth a splurge for a special occasion, but maybe not for the yearly "bring everyone"-type family vacation.

if your not totally set on a resort yet you could take a disney cruise. took my wife, my mother and my sister on one earlier this year and we had a blast.

Disney's private island is amazing and even has an 18 and up area so you can get away from the kids if ya want.

All in all I spent about 6k on the trip when all was said and done.

The Carribean is a hole. West Coast of Costa Rica bro. Cheap flights from Canada to Liberia airport, friendly people, beutiful scenery.

There is of course a Carribean coast of Costa Rica. But like I said, the whole place sucks. :P

A 2 year old is not going to sit still on a 12 hour flight ;)

We have a hard enough time on a 2 hour direct flight to the Bahammas.

DH...there are some beautiful resorts located in the Bahamas. Only like a 3 hour direct flight from TO :)

12 hour flight? Where are you located that it's a direct 2 hour flight to "The Carribean" and it's a 12 hour flight to the Carribean coast of Costa Rica?

Sorry at least 7 hour flight connecting from Toronto, which is 5 hours longer than a 2 year old can endur. LOL

Playa dorada is a complex, not a single resort.

With your money DH, I think Sandals/Beaches resorts would be your best bet. Not high end, but better than the rest.

Steen2 11-05-2004 10:42 PM

Cancun (touristy), Cuba or Dom Rep are good bets.

The last two aren't as modern though.
