New Dual Monitor Setup - Different (pic)

So I have had 2 screens for years now (even 3 for a few months, but it was too bright, lol) but today I tried somthing different.... Rotating them 90 degrees and putting them vertical.... So far I like and it save a tons of desc space...and allows me more room to see people when they sit on the other side of it too.

Sorry about the camera phone pic, only one that i had today.

vickyQ 01-21-2005 05:39 PM

hmm... being able to see more into the sides has always been more needed to me. I think I'd not get used to your setup.

Silent_Thunder 01-21-2005 05:39 PM

Looks strange :) But I like creative thinking! :)

Tuga 01-21-2005 05:41 PM

Wow that's cool, look at my setup here http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=420243 . I do get buried behind the monitors.

Wiggles 01-21-2005 05:46 PM

thats a neat setup, don't think i'd be able to do it.

Main reason was not to get burried behgind them (actually be able to see our porn stars when the come in and sit at my desk, lol), and the resloution is set to 1024x1280, so I have room the the left and right too..

tony286 01-21-2005 05:52 PM

pxxx 01-21-2005 06:00 PM

That is a nice setup.

emthree 01-21-2005 07:10 PM

I could never handle that. Even with 3LCDS.

d00t 01-21-2005 07:17 PM

nice moniters... what are they?

Vitasoy 01-21-2005 07:38 PM

Now that's different... my monitors couldn't do it, even if I wanted to.

wargames 01-21-2005 07:39 PM

Looks cool

Jace 01-21-2005 07:40 PM

i couldn't do it......i can already tell by the amount of space on the desktop that working in premiere or multitasking would be a bitch

Alex 01-21-2005 07:42 PM

I have a 19inch LCD as my main one and a 21inch flat sony CRT in the corner.

Im not a big enough for player for dual LCDs :(

I just bought 2 new 19" Samsung LCDs to take back to Hawaii, I had to pack them both in the same box that was for one of them so I could take them on the plane as carryon with me tomorrow morning. I hope they don't get fucked up. :helpme

Matt_WildCash 01-21-2005 08:40 PM

Double monitors kicks ass. But your new setup isn't going to be so good for seeing what your surfers are going to really see when they visit your site.

DamnGoodRatio 01-21-2005 10:53 PM

I have a 19" CRT for work. I like the colors and viewing angle. I use a 17" LCD, now rotated just like yours, for traffic monitoring, IM window and the tools in PShop. Anyone not using two monitors should imediately get a second one. Even pick up a cheapie at goodwill to test the concept and see if you like it. I promise you will.

I like the monitor mounts from www.ergotron.com

You can get them way cheaper than they are on the Ergotron site by going to pricegrabber.com. Sometimes people on ebay sell the dual monitor versions pretty cheap as well.

Great stands and highly configureable :thumbsup

UniversalPassLorence 01-21-2005 11:03 PM

After one month of my ergotron collecting dusts, I decided to setup my two 17" monitors on it and it looks really nice. I'm crossing my fingers my monitors don't fall off the stand....
