affiliate program for generic paysites???
ok everyone, i already know everyones first response to my question, but please read this whole post before replying telling me it is a bad idea......
i have some bought non-exclusive content in a few different niches, i have enough to pop up 4-5 pay sites and update them for 2 months or so, and the guys i bought the content from have plenty more for me to get to keep updating the sites, not to mention i have been producing porn for a long ass time so can just shoot whatever I need. now i want to pop these sites up and only charge 10-15 a month for the membership, I would like to start an affiliate program with 50/50 revshare. Now normally i would answer a post like this and say it isn't worth doing, but when i think about the reasons i would be doing it, it make sense. I am starting production on my own series of reality sites, 4 in all at the moment with plans for a total of 10. now as i said i have lots of experience in this area of the biz..... I worked as a cameraman and editor for companies that shot exclusive shit for top bucks and silver cash, and thats when i first got into this wacky business. So i was blessed by being given the opportunity to produce content for two of the biggest porn networks out there. so anyways, i think you all get the point that i know how to make quality videos and shit.....so back to the point here.... the idea of using this non-exclusive content with an affiliate program would be to fund my reality sites, talent isn't cheap any more. i am paying these girls upwards 800 a scene for 20 minute B/G!! I remember paying 400-500 for 60 minutes, damn i am getting old.....lol... but i need at least 10 scenes per site to launch with 2-3 scenes per site sitting on the shelf for updates in case of any set backs and such. now those numbers are pushing it and i would feel more comfortable with 15 scenes to open and 5 sitting on the shelfs, but hey, I am being realistic here. but if i can use this purchased non-exclusive stuff to back the bare necessities to get the good shit online, i feel it is totally worth doing. I guess my main point here, since i have rambled on forever now, is is it truly worth trying? who is best in billing? who should i use for hosting?? what kind of incentives should i give since i am a new affiliate program? and finally, what should i charge monthly for a membership? (the content is hand jobs, foot fetish, solo girl, B/G and G/G, no themes at all) thanks for reading this long ass, drawn out thread and thanks in advance for your input!! |
$10-15/month is too little. Nobody's gonna push traffic to make $5-7.5/sale.

Will surfers pay 25-30 bucks a month for it?? |
The main thing to stress to you is 99.9% of affiliate programs are not Silvercash or Topbucks, and that there most likely will not be an influx of funds to branch out. It will take a big marketing presence just make ends meet.
If you are charging $10-$15 a month for a membership (which I can assume is to try and gain market share) after processing fees/hosting/and everything else you will be gross netting a very small amount. And the gross net cannot even be factored until you pass a certain threshold of sales. The amount of memberships to make a serious amount of money at that price point is not realistic. As TGF noted affiliates will most likely not want to push traffic to a non exclusive program that pays them less overall, even though the hope would be added sales from a reduced price piont. Saying that you would be making $1-2 per membership sale is not unrealisitic. If it is profitable enough for you to actually start paying to shoot your own stuff, you should probably just stick with that program. |
I totally understand what you mean, and didnt think of it that way. Shooting my own stuff is definitely more profitable, but I need to find a way to financially back the whole thing. i am not looking to make a living off of generic porn sites, just want to make enough to cover my costs on my own productions.

$29.95 - 1 Month
$69.95 - 3 Months Make sure the 3 month membership price point is first on the join page and you'll do fine with sales :) At the end of the day, if you have a hot looking model (in the surfers mind) on your tour, you are going to sell a membership. I really dont understand why people ask webmasters opinions on paysite designs or content, after all, it isnt webmasters you are going to be marketing the sites to, its surfers. If you took even 25% of what webmasters said to be true, nobody in the industry would be making money LOL Regards, Lee |
Discount Porn hurts everyone :disgust
Is a dollar a day to much to ask for quality porn? |
