how to fix printer? noise is driving me crazy
 

the light on the top of the scanner that moves across to scan stuff adjusts every 5 minutes or so and makes a really annoying noise. is there a way to stop that? its a hp3380, printer/fax/scanner/copier combo.

Sounds like you need to change something in the driver you are using, it would appear to be triggering a "warmup" mode every few minutes.
