Most of the food used for commercials are specially made and not edible. It is common practice, and done simply for aesthetics. The pictures of food at fast food places is no different.

Of course if you are eating there, you pretty much deserve what you get anyway.

timberlands 04-20-2007 03:50 AM

sue for false advertisement

Humpy Leftnut 04-20-2007 03:57 AM

Did you know you could get a highly boring and unfulfilling career making fake food look pretty for the camera? Ugh.

OldJeff 04-20-2007 04:31 AM

Actually what they are selling has to be real in the pic (by law)

However a Bowl of Corn Flakes (real flakes) are place one by one into a bowl of lard so they sit just right.

Even the seeds on the bun abouve are place one by one.

Food artists will spend 8-10 hours putting together a plate of food to get 3 photos

bobby666 04-20-2007 05:07 AM

thats not photoshop, thats reality

May have to be real, but there is still a lot of interpretation that can be done. Yes, it may be a real hamburger patty, but that isn't to say that they didn't brown the outside with a blow torch, then spray it with varathane to make it shiny and stiff.

I would NOT be eating McDonald's if I was in Milano... no fuckin way!

Funny, I was just talking about this with my wife the other day.

There should be a law that fast food companies, when shooting commercials or print ads, should be required to RANDOMLY visit one of their locations, purchase the food they want to advertise, and use the food they purchased for the ads.

I hate McDonald's. Try sometime their food when it gets cold. Then you realize what crap they sell.

Yeah its not always plastic either. For icecream, they use LARD

seeric 04-20-2007 09:04 AM

actually those are models. made from plastic and stuff. they mist and oil the meat and lettuce and stuff. they come from a company that makes props and special effects just for tv. in many occassions its not edible food.
