How much traffic do you send to a sponsor before you switch to another?
Well....how much do y'all send before you swap 'em up (without a sale)?
|
10k

Dude those numbers are low. Sometimes sponsors don't grab signups for a stretch then all of a sudden - WHAM!
|
It depends on the "quality" of traffic you have. I don't deal with tgp traffic, just quality SE, type-in, ppc & AVS traffic. I usally send anywhere from 5K - 10K before switching. Basically give them a fair shot first.

Those are some fucked up numbers... You can't accurately judge a sponsor's performance by 900 hits.
I think you should have just a few more options on that vote! |
i send them mixed real and hitbot traffic,my ratios are not good, but i make more money this way

I don't use sponsors much at all. However, this may work similarly to advertisers... Figure out how much the traffic is worth to you. How long can you go between sales before it would be better to use it for something else? Base your number on that... With a bigger payout (or crummier traffic) you will want to wait a good long time. With small payouts, or good strong traffic, you won't need to wait long to see that conversions suck.

if you want to have a good idea of how a sponsor converts, you have to send at least 10k uniques.
If you want a extremely good idea, send 20k Don't switch to another sponsor after 300 clicks : let you traffic the time to get used to the product, let them understand that if you are proposing this site, there is a reason.. Let them understand that it's a GREAT site. |
Paysite owners: how much do y'all receive before you suspend referral account (without a sale) :question

(towards bottom of page) It should be a function of your normal signup ratio. All other things being equal (that's important), if you send 3x as many visitors as your normal conversion ratio with no signups, there is only a 5% chance that would happen by chance alone if the new program is as good as the last one. So if you normally convert 1/1500, send 4500. If you don't have a signup, it is quite unlikely that you are going to recover and do better than 1/1500. Sending 3x your normal conversion rate doesn't sound like much but it only makes sense if you have 0 signups at that point. If you get one, keep chugging. You'll be right 19 out of 20 times to switch back at that time. Also, consider that I said "all other things being equal". Daily fluctuation and other factors can make comparing across days difficult. |
