Since its launch in January, Cheezburger's traffic has doubled each month, and the blog now gets half a million page views a day, accounting for a third of the traffic on the WordPress blogging platform, according to Eric Nakagawa, aka Cheezburger. "If you hit a niche and you can build a community, you might not have a $1 million idea, but you might have a $10,000 or a $100,000 idea," says Nakagawa, who gave up his job as a software developer to play Cheezburger full-time. (His partner, "Tofuburger," still has a day job.) A week of ads on Cheezburger, via Blogads, starts at $500 and tops out at $5,400 for a premium position. The site also sells through Google AdSense and AdBrite platforms. It recently ranked No. 26 on the most-linked-to blogs list on hahahahahahahahahaha.

it seems to be the case of many sites that are judged by....... well, bit of a crazy man can site. Well done, don't see much myself, but well done.

its fucking stupid and lame. I hate those "funny" cat pics with matching lame captions.... its just not fucking funny - on the contrary. It doesnt make any sense and it doesnt have any humor at all. So i guess i agree with the previous comment that its a site for chicks and gay guys - the people without humor

well i do like cats just not the concept of the internet nerds who see them as cute funny cuddly things along with the stupid captions. i grew up with cats. They are the last real hunters in the western world, beautiful to see them hunt. Exactly like tigers on tv only smaller. Plus they always want to show the prey they catched - only when they see youve seen them with their prey they start eating it. They just wait til someone sees them, like theyre boasting about it.

Don't house cats have the distinction of being the only Felines that can easily be killed by a common dog?

That is so cool, that in someone can come up with a different idea and make money on it online.

Ahhh fuck the hate. I do not care who really invented the silly cat caption either and nobody seems to know.

So it has cats, whoo hoo... I find them funny regardless, well most of them are at least several naturally bomb. It is a mix of the look, the caption, and the sheer sillyness of it. At worst it is making money off of a critter than many seem to either hate or love.
