Plan on taking the coastal route if your traveling from Norcal to Socal

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Oct. 13, 2007 - Firefighters on Saturday began hauling the mangled, blackened debris of more than a dozen big-rig trucks out of a freeway tunnel where at least two people were killed and 10 others injured in a fiery, chain-reaction crash that shut down a key transit route connecting Los Angeles to San Francisco.

The crash late Friday night involved an estimated 15 big rigs, possibly one or more passenger cars and sent people fleeing for their lives. At least five of the trucks burst into flames, and the fire spread to the others.

Saw this on the news this morning, looks fucking insane. They dont even know for sure if they have all of the deceased.

Doesn't sound like I-5 is closed, just the truck lanes in one spot.

Traffic will be heavier, but I-5 is still going to be faster than taking the coastal route. IMHO.
