What CMS do you use?

I am looking for some feedback on CMS's that people are using. We currently use Gallery2 to manage and feed our images and videos to our members. I have no major issues with Gallery2 as it is a great system. Just looking to possibly make a change before we get in any deeper and curious as to what options we might have.

I've been researching this recently and the two most popular seem to be Joomla and Drupal. Apparently even WordPress can be made to act like a CMS with proper tweaking. The new book "WordPress for Dummies" has a chapter on this. You might want to do a search here on this board and others on CMS and the above programs. There's a ton of feeback out there! Oh, and I believe Gallery works with all three of these.

We've setup a ton of members areas using WP as the CMS. WP makes a great CMS for somewhat simple backends serving mostly image galleries, static pages, video pages such as solo sites but definitely requires the right modifications to make it work correctly and securely.

I'd look into it further, sj_swank. I used WP + Gallery on a few solo sites a few years ago and it worked perfectly after we did the right things to it.

we use custom coded engine for all our community sites.

as for general membership sites - MPA,TTM,Awiz.

I would suggest to take a look at this site : www opensourcecms com
(sorry... can't post url yet!)

It's the best place to test the basics without having to download and install things.

Good luck!

CMS means Content Management System . Now it depend of your content type. Joomla , Drupal, Nuke are mostly for Text or rich text content (newspaper like). If your content is mostly image/video it is a different story.

sitedept CMS, or joomla is good

What are your requirements. General questions will get general answers. CMS could mean anything. You mentioned Gallery which isn't really a CMS.

I hear great things about joomla, but has anyone used it for an adult paysite? Are security features an issue?

The answer to your question is definitely go with MAS!
If you are serious about this business then don't waste your time with the likes of Joomla, Drupal, etc . . which are NOT specifically designed to run adult sites. Go with a program that IS specifically designed with this in mind and the best two are MAS and Carma (and both have good add-on Affiliate Programmes you can bolt on at a later date - MPA and NATS). MAS is the one I went with over 18 months ago and it runs both of my adult paysites brilliantly. Plus the technical support from MAS is top notch, I can't fault them in anyway! I get to play a lot more golf since I had MAS installed! :-)
mansionproductions [dot] com is their website address (I am not allowed to post URLs yet)

Hey there,

I've just used David at adultnetworkuk.com for a new domain and he's been brilliant help. They do custom CMS systems and also come off the shelf products.

Check him out :thumbsup
