Without Sales they were nothing.....

Without sales they were nothing. They built a house of straw.

The thundering conversions sputtered and stopped.

Their leaders talked and talked and talked. But nothing could stem the avalanche.

Their world crumbled. The forums exploded. A whirlwind of flaming, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men.

On the boards it was a white line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to
scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive.

The pirate tube sites took over, ready to distribute full videos for a single free click.

And in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary were were battered and smashed. Except for one man armed with Wordpress and his circa-1999 TGP.....

So you're saying it takes money to lose money?

Walrus 03-04-2008 04:29 PM

Creative.

This is really what could happen, and I've already experienced something similar. It can just "crumble" in just one day like that.

I'm a bit confused by the last part though. I don't get the joke.

Thanks. It is based on the original from Mad Max 2:

Quote:

[first lines]
Narrator: My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos. Ruined dreams. This wasted land. But most of all, I remember The Road Warrior. The man we called "Max". To understand who he was, you have to go back to another time. When the world was powered by the black fuel. And the desert sprouted great cities of pipe and steel. Gone now, swept away. For reasons long forgotten, two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel, they were nothing. They built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked. But nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. The cities exploded. A whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men. On the roads it was a white line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice. And in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary men were battered and smashed. Men like Max. The warrior Max. In the roar of an engine, he lost everything. And became a shell of a man, a burnt out, desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland. And it was here, in this blighted place, that he learned to live again...

The last part was meant to liken the adult webmaster of old to Max. The webmaster must now fight hard in order to survive in the new harsher climate. But the old doesn't always fit in with the new. And there's the struggle. Something like this anyway. :1orglaugh

Which man is that??

Haha. Very very nice! I love those Mad Max movies. I should have been able to pick up on that! I've seen "The Road Warrior" many many times. One of the greatest action films ever.

Interesting

I just started in this Jan 1, 2008 and am seeing 1:1000 conversions. The tube sites are popular, but, for the most part, they movies are poor quality and not easily downloadable. Bandwith is a problem for tube sites for sure. I started a tube page with sponser vids and it attracts a lot of visitors, but in the end, they want to download the movie.

Iron Fist 03-08-2008 11:33 AM

I'm going to see how this tube thing works out...

payd2purv 03-08-2008 11:36 AM

Tube Sites are quick, easy, free.

But you are limited to what that TubeSite has to offer.

Some people like TubeSites
Some people like Blogs
Some people like TGPs
Some people like PaySites
Some people like DVDs
Some people like Torrents
Some people like strip clubs
Some people like magazines
some people like incalls
some people like outcalls

ETC ETC ETC...

Sales will never drop to Zero but some people who are just taking space may have to finally move out or step up their game :)

Illegal content is Illegal content notify the TubeSite owner and have it removed.. This is what the music and movie industry had to do.... it only makes sense the adult industry has to also..

Dagwolf 03-08-2008 02:17 PM

I hate "tube" sites...

The only tube site I can tolerate as a surfer is youtube. The others tend to be slow and crappy often being loaded with banners and advertising which take more time to load than the movie itself. I find myself saying "fuck this" and I jus tlook for the download link, if present.

Although between a legal tube site and a text based TGP as a surfer I would probably take the tube site. :2 cents:

Nah, it has always been obvious how stupid this shit is. It's just that your readers are too dumb to understand.

signupdamnit 07-03-2013 05:05 PM

I wish I was wrong about this one. :(

TheSquealer 07-03-2013 05:07 PM

One has to wonder where all this free content is coming from after almost 10 years of tubes. It's almost like it is profitable to monetize it with tube sites?

Do a keyword search on any of the largest tube sites for 'bondage' or 'bdsm' and guaranteed the vast majority of the results will be kink.com footage (wiredpussy, sexandsubmission, waterbondage, hogtied, etc.)

Sure, there's a bit of other variety thrown into the mix - but I'd hazard to guess 50-60% of it is Acworth's stuff (promo clips and full-length features).
