Do you enjoy road trips?

I know I sure do. Driving to Vegas today was so cool. The desert with the rain clouds over the mountains was so beautiful. I love being able to hit the road and enjoy the scenery of this great country.

munki 02-25-2008 12:46 AM

I used to... then I wrecked my truck a few years back...

Maybe if I get another similar ride I really just enjoy driving that much again I'd get back into it.

Dirty F 02-25-2008 12:48 AM

As long as its in a convertible and Baddog isnt around then yeah.

Domain Diva 02-25-2008 12:50 AM

no I get so bored sitting in a car for hours :(

Porno Dan 02-25-2008 12:51 AM

I loved Road Trips when I was in college.

I really haven't done that many since then.

Why not drive instead of fly sometime? You travel enough to do short trips to Vegas at least. It is only 3 1/2 hours from LA.

Did you ever live here before or were you always on the east? If you haven't checked out your new home, you are missing it.

LA Crew 02-25-2008 02:03 AM

YES!!!
:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
its the best thing ever :)

Mr Pheer 02-25-2008 02:16 AM

i go from vegas to barstow on my bike quite often...

VeriSexy 02-25-2008 02:52 AM

I don't like sitting in a car for hours... so no

After Shock Media 02-25-2008 02:55 AM

If I am the only one driving, no not really but I will get the trip done in one shot typically.

Though I do love drives that are not really destination trips.

I made the drive from LA to Vegas once since I have been here. I was a peaceful drive.

I lived in the DC Metro Area for almost all of my life. My first job out of college was in sales in Vegas from 1993-1995.

We used to go on some pretty crazy road trips when I was in college living in my fraternity house. We went to Marid Gras a couple times, drove to Fort Lauderdale, Datyona Beach and Panama City for Spring Break. We would go to Myrtle Beach every year when school ended. But the most fucked up road trips we had were when we would go down 81 and stay with our fraternity brothers at Va Tech and Radford.

When you say road trip I still envision 5 guys packed in car, raising hell on their way to an adventure.

L-Pink 02-25-2008 10:52 AM

I will always remember riding my bike from Albuquerque to Flagstaff. Going thru the dry nothingness of the petrified forest you could actually smell and feel the vegetation as you approached Flagstaff. Really cool.

Honez 02-25-2008 11:14 AM

Road trips where I can take my time, stop and poke around in little shops in little towns frozen in time, are the best. Although there isn't much of it left, I would love to do a Route 66 trip.

kowalsky 02-25-2008 11:30 AM

I love it, specially when it´s around montains area.

candyflip 02-25-2008 11:32 AM

We took a road trip last fall with a group of Mini owners to Watkin's Glen. Once there we got to take the cars on the track for a few laps. Had a blast. That was the last one I went on.

I did enjoy the movie.

Brother Bilo 02-25-2008 11:36 AM

I love it. I got a trip up to the bay area in the next few months I'm stoked for. Even just driving somewhere just to drive there is a good time. Just roll down the windows and turn up the stereo. It's good for the soul.

Jens Van Assterdam 02-25-2008 11:37 AM

road trips are always a blast! Just depends on the people driving with you..

Paco, of Large Cash. 02-25-2008 11:39 AM

Love 'em, since they (road trips) typically mean I am leaving the city---city life sucks---and heading for the mountains to ski or climb!

Vick! 02-25-2008 12:55 PM

I enjoy when I drive .. driving fast is fun.

Peaches 02-25-2008 12:57 PM

I LOVE roadtrips :) Just came back from FL last week. I swear I'm going to make a coffee table book called "What People Haul in Trucks". There are some VERY strange things in the back of trucks (and in the front........).

ADL Colin 02-25-2008 12:58 PM

hell yeah. i have a lotta driving just to get outta fl though. someday i wanna go to the airport without a plan on where i am going and book a flight once i get there and just go for it

Xrated J 02-25-2008 01:00 PM

i drove from fl to vegas for internext in an rv. ill never do it again.

Evil E 02-25-2008 01:05 PM

I love it, but with some friends that are down to have some fun.

LFCII 02-25-2008 01:09 PM

I have taken hard ass rides on my steal pony from Boston to Tijuana for Chinese food and from Boston to Seattle (Space Needle) for a cup of coffee. All and all, I have taken some type of trip to 45 states and 3 countries via bike. A lot of bugs in the teeth and bee stings. Thanks for bringing back a lot of good memories.

Kind Regards,

Les

RisingAngel 02-25-2008 01:11 PM

I am addicted to road trips. It's my true escape. I sing like a rock star when the windows are rolled up, lol. Until this next Sunday, I will never have flown to get somewhere.

Fletch XXX 02-25-2008 01:11 PM

who doesnt?

you havenyt lived until youve driven back and forth from one end of US to the other a few times with no particular place to go.

I read jack kerouacs ON THE ROAD when I was young and it blew my mind, now the road is always there as an option when there is no other

D 02-25-2008 01:12 PM

Yep. I'll often go the longer, scenic route if it's an option.

Syl 02-25-2008 01:14 PM

I remember one road trip to Vegas was an absolute nightmare. Was going to get married so that was stressful enough and of course we got lost and that set us back over 2 hours.

But yeah other then that it's nice to check out the scenery to different places. We've driven up to Sedona a few times and that is my favorite ride. It's so beautiful and the red mountains are always cool to look at. :)

pornguy 02-25-2008 01:35 PM

Yeah. My last trip was from San Diego to Brownsville Tx. Just me and my dog. From there, picked up the family and drove to Cancun.

Tanker 02-25-2008 01:55 PM

I love em

We are getting ready to leave Toronto this week for Key West!

Spring Break 2008!

AriaGiovanni 02-25-2008 01:57 PM

I drove from LA to NY taking a northern route and from NY to San Diego taking a southern route. I also drove another time from LA to NY when I moved there. I have been on tour and done the US at least 7 times on a tour bus. That is not nearly as much fun because it is go go go and you actually live on the bus quite a bit. The upside though is that I have seen more of the US than most and some parts are quite beautiful.

LauraLee 02-25-2008 02:06 PM

I truly love road trips :)

KILL_FRENZY 02-25-2008 02:16 PM

road trips are cool :)

JenniDahling 02-25-2008 02:19 PM

Baddog, it was that road trip to Internext Vegas 3 years ago that you took me on that started my career in Online!!! And every time I see the SouthPark episode where Cartman gets the alien satellite up his butt I think of you. LOL

papill0n 02-25-2008 02:33 PM

I love roadtrips.

Just me and the bike and a nice windy road with no cars = HEAVEN

Peaches 02-25-2008 02:38 PM

As soon as I'm down a couple of dogs (I know that sounds awful, but it's true), I'm seriously looking into getting a B+ or C class RV and hitting the road for about a year. If I could find someone to rent out my house during that time, that would be PERFECT :)

The only time I semi-regretted a road trip was driving straight to the Outer Banks from here by myself and with 2 dogs. It's a 12 hour drive and I really couldn't stop for any long period of time (bathroom breaks were about it) with the dogs in the car and I couldn't eat because I'd end up trying to eat and fight off two attack pugs at the same time.

The worst part was once I got there, I realized I had to drive back home ;) Thankfully I stayed there for 2 weeks so I had time to recoup at the beach :)

I truly would rather drive by myself - having someone there distracts from my "heavy thinking" time.

Okay then. I don't recall any anal on that trip. What exactly puts the two together?

tony286 02-25-2008 07:06 PM

roadtrips can be alot of fun.

fryer 02-25-2008 09:22 PM

I drive 3 hours a day to work round trip so road trips have somewhat lost their luster. But I still enjoy them and love to get around. I have a new car with nav so it would be cool to see new places and find anything in the surrounding area ;]

sicone 02-25-2008 09:44 PM

Road trips rock

did that 2 summers ago.. Went to disney with my mom and daughter who was visiting.. the shops were cool but i must say the motel we stayed in there was SCARY! there is no such thing as a real hotel on route 66 and this place was a dump.. but other then that we had a blast

I don't know though as a teenager and early 20's i loved to get out and drive but now i just wanna get on a plane and fly.

halfpint 02-25-2008 10:12 PM

I love road trips. Use to love it when we were in South Africa and my dad use to take us on road trips to Durban and Cape Town and especially the Drakensburg Mountains. I still love either riding my bike in the forest over here in the UK in the summer or taking the car and just seeing new places even though Uk is a lot smaller :)

Best road trips for me have been to KeyWest in an RV. That was from the midwest and took a couple of days. Think it was the best cause of the pople I went with. So many stories....

Damn BD, you really need some pics in this thread. Road trip needs pics!

fatfoo 02-25-2008 10:39 PM

I dig a good road trip. A enjoy going from sd to phx or tucson. Just kinda nothing. I just get a couple new CDs or at times I just drive with no radio or CDs at all. Just sit maybe for an hour and think while I cruise.
