What's a good video editor program?

My Vegas 6.0 ain't running no more. Time to get something good.

What will let me edit AVI, MPG, WMV files and output in same and MP4?

not sure if they are still updating it, but power director was always easy to use, even something like pinnacle studio, but i have to admit Vegas is prob my fav, and has alot of good features

Adobe Premiere, it's the most advanced out of the cheaper bunch. I live and die by Final Cut Pro though, too bad it's Mac only.
