if you are in STXT menu you will see a GREEN update notification message on top, just click it and update starts.. yes, it's that easy :thumbsup

Yes that's the one.. the only thing that is still missing is the encoder, but we release that in a few days..

can you explain the difference between smart-thumbs and smart-text?

I read that smart-text basically downloads updated thumbs on its own so that an updating site is standalone with no intervention needed... is that basically correct?


so if a person wants to do a little work in downloading selected galleries (which might be better to be a little hands on, anyways), they can achieve everything the same other than the automation with smart-thumbs without going to smart-text?

STXT is totally different script than ST..
Main difference is the multi category nature of STXT which ST isn't.
Each gallery can be put in unlimited categories based on their description.

STXT has a totally rewritten database engine that allows for virtually unlimited galleries in database and still remain really fast..in ST this isnt the case.

STXT was build to be able to run sites true autopilot as it CAN pull galleries from our smart-sponsors gallery database which is counting 500k galleries now and growing insanely fast.
It pulls galleries from sponsors you trust automatically and processes (check, autocrop) them and put them online.. each time a sponsor in your trusted list updates with galleries the system starts processing them and put them in queue to go live..

STXT doesn't have ranking algo like ST but it ads galleries on a daily basis instead by clicks like ST does..

STXT has many cool features, it can now run TUBE sites as well..

Can you use the tube functions to automatically calculate wmv9 video duration and generate thumbnails?

We do this of course, if wmv9 isnt problematic format somehow, then it shouldnt be problem. All videos could be converted by our external script and screenshot with duration saved for further use in Smart Tube & Text script. I am converting videos taken from free hosted galleries and they are mostly wmv, didnt notice any file conversions problem with this format so far.

Ok, how about this.

1. Generate thumbs and calculate video duration from wmv9. Then USE the very high quality WMV9 videos and thumbs in paysite tube style members area generated by Smart Tube? Basically using Smart Tube as a paysite members area CMS.

2. Using above thumbs and converting wmv9 to lower quality flv for possible basic tube (free site) to promote above paysite.

I know what you mean, though the script is not prepared to store several copies of one video, protect one part for members access only, handling accounts and so on, though you could use it as frontend for your member area cms.

if you only use smart-text and not the tube part, do you need those heavy server requirements?

No matter what you run.. all output is static.. tube or mgp doesn't really matter
