AlphaRed officially DEAD - CWIE walks away from LOI

CWIE has exited the LOI it had to purchase AlphaRed. They've walked out of the building about 30 minutes ago.

Alphared is basically destined for death now, make sure you have your backups!!!!!!!

We are still offering off site remote backups for a few months for free to secure peoples data.

AdultEUhost 10-09-2008 05:24 PM

I would suggest all Alphared customers to keep a close eye on the situation and think about if they would want (and can afford) to take the risk of waiting what happens with the (still possible) option of seeing your server going offline.

I think the fact that Alphared doesn't bring any update about the situation and the future of its hosting customers is a bad thing and unnecessary as it will make the situation only worse.

As far as I can see servers are still online as we just initiated another two transfers but I don't think this will last long, I wouldn't be surprised if everything went down for the weekend.

MovieMaster 10-09-2008 05:41 PM

A1R3K, HIT ME UP. I can hook you up with that!

Cyandin 10-09-2008 08:42 PM

We also have 8TB of free backup space available for any AR customer looking to save their data. Contact myself or Andy (412203056 , [email protected]) to arrange your free backup. Please note that backing up your data to our server does NOT require you to host with us. Rather, it's an effort by us and the many other great hosts on GFY to do our part to help protect people from losing everything.

Best of luck to everyone...I know there's some strong drinks being poured over this.:Oh crap

the single largest user WAS MegaUpload.com however after stringing the company along for a while to get their petabytes of data migrated off, they have now left and do their own thing someplace else.

an "employee run company" is emerging called, "acronoc" to try and scavenge the remaining AR customers
