Living in California is a little like playing the lottery

Drought
Mudslides
Year Round Fires
Earthquakes

Its like a living version of a video game sometimes.

This is why I love Northern California... We don't have any of these problems.

Sometimes it gets colder here than I would like... But otherwise it's nice!

He is barely in Northern California and at what would be the top of middle California. Would need to travel about another 150-250 miles north to hit Northern California really :winkwink:

Up here we do get Earthquakes, Fires, Draught, Flooding, High winds (damaging type), Freezes, and oh ya we have a few volcano's to boot which at least have the decency to be quiet right now. No real mudslide issues though.

DefaultMan 10-14-2008 03:20 PM

It's always interesting that's for sure.

EscortBiz 10-14-2008 03:20 PM

anywhere you live you deal with issues

ny might not have earthquakes but plenty of other things

V_RocKs 10-14-2008 03:25 PM

Also mention that my house was $700K when I moved in and is now worth $495K... (I rent BTW).

Barefootsies 10-14-2008 03:39 PM

Everywhere you live there are trade offs.

In Cali, you get the nice weather (compared to most other areas of the country) almost year round. Nothing like 300 days of sunshine versus rain, snow, fog, insane humidity, etc.

I'd sill choose Cali over that shit.
:2 cents:

Conversely, nothing much happens up here near the geographical center of N America (the bellybutton of N America if you will), unless you don't like snow, viciously cold winters, squadrons of mosquitos in summer, and massive flood conditions once every 50 years or so.

Speaking of that, if Winnipeg is the bellybutton of N America, then when looking at the map it would appear that Florida would be it's dick. That would make California the... ass? No wonder the winds are so devastating. :D

to me florida is the armpit. i hated living in florida.
