Howard Stern - RIP Brother!
So Howard Stern died a slow and miserable death when he left the airwaves and went to satellite radio. He used to have 20 million listeners and growing and now he has 2 million. The people that gave him the $500 million are basically fucked because they will never make that money back.
Howard went from George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightly, Julia Roberts, Madonna, etc to having the likes of Hulk Hogan and Kathy Griffin (who?) on his show now... What an idiot... No one cares about that loser anymore... Sure he has money... But he can't get into the posh clubs to spend it because he is a loser like Tara Reed. Rest In Peace, Howard. Your celebrity has died! |
After a while howard gets old. I was a huge fan used to listen to him on nbc.
|
you are calling him a loser??? seems to me his bank accounts say otherwise, and now he has a cushy gig where he can say whatever he wants and not have to worry about the fcc
|
Who is Howard Stern?
|
I never liked him. He sucks.

Is this based on the mostly false information that was printed in the LA Times today about him? He actually discussed it on his show... something about the LA times is owned by a company who is in pursuit to acquire 50 or so radio channels and thus this story was printed to bash satellite. I dunno, something like that. :)

Never listened to him, but I'm sure he still can live life with anything he wants ..
|
maybe you're mad cuz he ridiculized a bunch of obama losers for the ignorant twats that they are?
|
His show started to suck near the end. He mentioned how at one point, over half his show was commercials.
I personally like his satellite show better. They are more open to do whatever they want and don't have to worry about censorship. Satellite also has lower subscription numbers because the government really fucked them over on the merger because they were all bought and paid for by the non-satellite companies. |
you fucker. i thought he died. my heart sank.
damn. |
BTW the show had Sarah Silverman on today and Christian Slater yesterday, Tom Arnold like a week ago, etc etc. Trust me, unless this is your own personal opinion and not that of a heavily biased 3rd party, and you listen to the show regularly, I'm going to have to say you're wrong. :)
|
Yeah I also thought he died and was looking for a press release!
|
No one cares about him, yet you started a thread about him, I guess that makes you a no one.
|
hes an idiot
|
all i heard was friggin reruns this weekend on my drive to and from LA ughh!
|
I guess he showed them didn't he. Maybe it's better not to be owned by a bunch of assholes making $$$$ then having your own shit only making 2$:2 cents:

That satelite deal was bad from the beginning. Only a moron would pay for radio waves. |
The NUMBER of people participating in something is always an accurate measure of its quality or value.
I'm trading targeted US SE traffic for Chinese TPG/mail traffic... hit me up. |
WHats he give a shit, he gots money.

Maybe I just like him because I'll take talk radio allllllllll day over the music they play on most of these channels. BTW I think someone from here sponsored a few spots on Howard 100/101 a little bit back, wonder how that went for em. I wanna say it was Vegas Ken. |
God I remember I used to TRY to listen to him on the way to work. The drive used to take about 20 minutes. RARELY would I hear anything but commercials.
|
he is just biding his time until the government mandates all radio stations be abolished and satellite will be the standard ...kinda like they are doing with analog to digital cable...howard's contract will end about the time this happens putting him in position to negotiate an even higher contract :2 cents:
|
I think O&A are better
|
lol what the fuck? You're talking about him like he fucked your wife or something lol... I listen to him every day, because I can afford satellite radio, and his show is better than ever and he seems happier than ever to me.

RIP fartman

Jay Leno and David Letterman have Hulk Hogan and Kathy Griffin on. They must be hasbeen's as well. |
I actually listen to Ellis more than I listen to Howard, even though Ellis gets pretty annoying with the down under accent saying "No what I mean" alot
wish they would get Kidd Chris on Sirius already, now that guy is entertaining :2 cents: |

I admit I am a big fan of his so my thoughts might be a little biased. When he went to Sirius Satellite they had been in business around 3 years and had around 900,000 subscribers. Two years later they had around 8 million and they bought XM who has around 9 million subscribers. The combined companies give them around 17 million subscribers. The only subscription based company in the US with more subscribers is Comcast.
They say he has around 5-9 million listeners a day. There are no ratings for sattelite, but most of the people that joined after he started joined for him and they have ways of estimating how many listeners they have. When all the hardware is switched over and the XM people can listen to him that number could double. if you figure 8 million listeners @ $12 a month that is around 96 million a month in revenue not counting the 9 million subscribers from XM. Mel Karmizan the CEO of Sirius has said that they have already recouped their investment in Howard. He may not have as many A list celebs on his show, but if you listed daily before he only had 1-2 big name people a month on his old show and he seems to have around the same now. To me the show now is better than it has been in years. Since it is uncensored it is funnier and I still like most of the guests they have. Personally I would rather have them have some Whack Packer or some C or D list celeb that is going to be an honest, good guest than some A lister who is going to recite the same bullshit they tell everyone else that interviews them. Howard is far from dead. |
he was dead long time ago. once he went off from public radio he had nothing to bitch about any more. never liked him...
|
I don't listen and I don't know any numbers... but having 2 million paying listeners over 20 million nonpaying listeners sounds like a better deal to me.

Even if Howard did not make his salary back for the radio... which it sounds like he did... I would bet that he made a great loss leader.

I'm assuming the thread starter is now trying to take credit the observations made by big media? |

i think there is a big similarity here.. i consider Howard Stern quality entertainment, something i would pay for..but when it came time to install the damn thing in my car and subscribe, i too lost interest in Howard. I would listen to his show in a heartbeat if he was on my dial.. fucking US big brother ruined it.. no free speech in this country any longer. |
By chance I had listened to Howard Stern once.
|
$500 million I wish to be that much of a loser, instead I am a $35,000.00 a year loser. I have something to strive for = Hurray!!!!
|
everyone ripped him off ....
Howard Stern = Maverick |
I think he's laughing all the way to the bank.
|
I thought you were referring to him getting married as death.

Frrrrrrraaaaaannnnkus
