Where to begin?
I have my first adult site running...
Now, what will be the best approach to get traffic, and ultimately $$, with no money or so little? What you guys did in your beginnings and what will you do if you have to re-begin? |
Tell us more about your adult site? What kind of site is it? Pay or free? What kind of niche? Who is your target audience?
I am basically starting over from scratch, after toying with some amateur stuff in 2006. What I am doing differently this time, is I am sitting down and writing out an actual marketing/business plan and am following step by step. Before I just took a bunch of shit an threw it against the wall, and I hoped it stuck??!! |
It is in my sig. It's a tube and it's empty, still brand new...
|
So far you're already started..! And you have joined GFY. Both good starts.
How do you answer these 2 questions? (1) Who do you want to view your site? (2) How are they going to find it? |
1) Not sure if I understand it. Should I say the most people as possible? Does that make any sense? I guess traffic is key...
2)No idea. SE? Anything else better in the adult industry? |
There are millions of websites out there. Why should people come to yours?
That is why webmasters are trying to find content specific niches. The answer to #1 can be something like: People who like big boobed blondes with fake tits who are major pornstars - Bree Olsen, Nikki Benx, Puma Swede, Gina Lynn The answer to #2 could be somthing like: I am going to blog news about these stars - on major blog sites - like Bree Olsen hosts a birthday party in her hometown in Indiana. Nikki Benz stars in new Brazzers site Sports Stars like it big. The idea of the blogs is to generate language for the search engines - so that when people "google" - Nikki Benz Sports - your site may get hit and people can click over to it. The more specificc you can be, the more focused you can be. Instead of trying to be ALL things to ALL people - just try and entertain a few people. Ask yourself - what kind of content do I enjoy - chances are there are 1 million other horny bastards out there who like the same things - now you just have to try and find them? Make sense? |
Absolutely, that makes sense. I guess I need to work that out.
Since I have no clue about who's Bree or Nikki, I guess I should "learn" the adult industry. Honestly, I know nothing so...I have the will, just need the time I guess... |
Absolutely..! It doesn't happen overnight anymore...
Look at it this way though - the internet is not going anywhere, it's hear to stay. If you send me your email - I'll send you a free book that I bought 2 years ago that taught me a ton of stuff... [email protected] |
|
Just sent my email...
Thanks again. |

tube
I think you picked wrong type of site to start. Tube sites are destroying industry and have very, very low conversion rates.
|
Yep, I have it. Thanks a million.
I have stuff to read now...Let's get started! |

I really don't want to discourage you, but this is very bad moment for industry. But, if you work now hard and don't expect much, when things start going up, you will feel results. Anyway, search engine traffic should be one that is best converting into sales and that is something you want. This means that (my personal opinion) you should go with site with lots tex and descriptions and focus on one of few keywords. Also, important thing is to choose one niche, best would be some microniche that is not oversaturated (like Teen niche). Try to work on something that don't have much competition. Once again, I think that you should avoid tube sites and if you search GFY ,you will find many opinions regarding this. Also, don't copy other's concepts, try to make something new on your site.

Beside, I guess I will need a better hosting. I use GNOXHOST.COM and it's down most of the time. Anything better?
I get unlimited bandwidth and I paid $80/year... |

I agree that these are bad times to start any kind of business, but thats not to say it wont be a success. I dabbled in basic niche blogs for a while but realised that there was so much competition it was barely worth it. If you put in the hard yards you'll begin to feel the rewards at some point. Just do something a bit different to everyone else and you should be fine |

The marketing techniques have changed since I started. It use to be having the right keywords and text was enough to get you a high listing in a search engine. Now marketing is a full time job. IFriends (ClickCash) used to convert well for me, but for the past two years Camsense has been my best cam income. They are only revshare and their main source of income is from live chat with a few prerecorded chat sessions. I also get IMLive conversions occasionally. Never had much luck with LiveJasmin. |
firstly dude ur host is gonna fuk u over VERY quikly. 80 for a year... i rekon u will last 2 weeks max. By the time you get any traffic your fuked with them cos you will use up to many resources. And since those servers are oversold 100x over they will quikly ban you. And they wont refund u either lol.
So maybe just fork out $30 for a vps for one month and wen u make some money get another month etc etc.... you should make 1 sale or sumthing like that in a months time otherwise you are doing something rong... |
Step1. Choose a niche
Step2. Choose 2 or 3 keywords for SE purposes (read all about SEO on this board) Step3. Get some text in there and alt tags to get the right keyword density Step4. Start trading hardlinks in your niche and buy cheap hardlinks on PR pages Its a way to start |

If you'd like, I can send you the Klixxx Webmaster Guide, which we are currently offering for, drum roll please, free!!! Email mona at klixxx.com your email...
Sex sells, the Internet is here to stay, so no matter what, if you want to do something with sex online, it is possible. Obviously, what worked 10 years ago, or even 2 years ago, doesn't necessary work today. My suggestion...Educate yourself about the industry and search engine optimization. How can you do this? The book you received earlier in the post, www.Klixxx.com (:thumbsup) is a great resource center, Google Webmaster Central at www.google.com/webmasters/, etc. If you don't understand the big picture then it will be VERY difficult to make well-informed decisions, possibly costing you money in the end. Read the forums, go back as long as you like, get a feel for it... My best advice is to focus on niche, or untapped traffic. Pin2Cash.com is converting Russian traffic 1:7 (so I hear) and, a personal favorite, EuroRevenue.com has some top notch, high converting sites fetish sites. Best to focus on what you're into (and let's hope it's not hot blondes with big boobies because that is super saturated!) because when you write and post it will come more naturally... |
