Is 24% per year guaranteed a lot for an investment?
So my friend is doing an up to 24% per year investment deal here.
I'm not sure if that's a lot because I usually get more on my stuff. If you're interested in a guaranteed 24% per year (with all the legal stuff that obligates to get paid) hit me up. I was convinced he's doing well when he showed me his $100k Lexus that he pimped out with another $50k. |
You usually get more than 24%? Are you Warren Buffett?

Guaranteed how? Is he going to give me the title to his Lexus? Using the word guaranteed with investments could be considered fraudulant. |
So what's the max amount of money I can go in with? Cause at 24% guaranteed per year I can just loan 1mil from the bank and pay ~7% and pimp with the other 17% ($170k).....^^
|
Interesting. Why would someone who is doing so well want to borrow money at 24% when money is available at much cheaper rates?
|
When people "guarantee" a return of 24% it usually means you are guaranteed to lose your money. Billionaire invite-only hedge fund managers don't even guarantee results.
I would ask to see some paperwork instead of just a flashy car. But best of luck, I hope you get rich. |
I think it really depends on the country you're investing in.
But 24% is a lot for sure. |

Is there a bridge or possibly some prime Florida waterfront property available in this deal?

That sounds quite low -- most Ponzi schemes offer a much higher return :winkwink:
|
who the hell is talking about borrowing money at 24%? no one is
|
This thread is dumb.

The only thing that is gaurenteed is death and taxes.

When people can borrow basically unlimited amounts at under 10% and someone is "guaranteeing" 24% returns it would make me pretty skeptical.

If someone gives me 24% return per year on an investment they are, one would hope, making more than that. So let's say they are making 40% total in one year giving me the promised 24%. Let's call this business "Joe's Can't Miss Loan-sharking". I put in $100,000. The investment returns $140,000. I receive my $100,000 back + 24%. They profit $16,000. Great. Now say instead that they borrowed $100,000 from the bank at 9%. It's the same investment so it returns $140,000. The bank gets their $100,000 back + 9% interest and he profits $31,000. |

I have done the 20% flip on short term investments with friends. For example, I have a new project I want to launch. I could pull money off my card, or cash in something to get the money. Or I could just borrow from a friend. Flip him back a 20% on a 6-12 mo. loan. He owns no part of my company, or project. I get the money. Everyone happy. I get a jump start on something, do not have to use my money, or more accurately, do not have to go through the hassle of cashing things out, or waiting, the bank hassle, credit card, etc. Just get the money, shoot the material, get the website done, whatever. I've done this a number of times whether a new project, or I wanted to rent a house and shoot a ton of material and had the girls all lined up. I even paid back early. Just makes it nice and easy for me with out having to go to the bank, tax records, up to date business profit and loss, waiting, and so forth. They get to make some money with their money. I get to jump start a project, or new site, shoot 3 months or material, whatever. Works out nicely. |

24% would be a great return yes. But FYI there is no such thing as a guaranteed investment. Trust me.
A 100k car means nothing. |

I know that on content especially I will make all that money back and then some. I like having my cards clear for trips, conferences, and such. So for me, if a friend is looking for a quick return on their tax return, or house they just sold, etc. and I have some new project I am working on, or in a position to shoot a ton of material. Then I will do it. But there have been times where I have just been working on a new project. Like when we launched the stocking, or one of the others. We wanted to shoot a shit load of material all at once. Had the girls, and opportunity came knocking. Worked out for everyone. But you're right. With everyone, it's weighing out the priorities, and preferences. Plus risk. |

most deals that are pretty high, you have to know someone or have a close connection |
The going rate for 'guaranteed' is 2%. WTF is the purpose of this thread? To make people envy your opportunity? Unlikely. They are either going to call you a liar or insist there is risk you aren't considering.
|
Hey man, have you ever heard about this great great compagny ACL ? Do you want to be a millionaire ? Well I guarantee you will be one within a year if you work hard. 90 % of new billionaires comes out from multi level marketing nowdays. Even Donald Trump endorses this !

This thread is still dumb.

It sounds like an HYIP... and its probably a scam just like most of them are. They always "look" legit.. and seem transparent with all docs to view online.. most HYIPs that looked legit are gone.. with everyone's money.. or gold, since most of those use Gold.. and look, now e-gold is screwed, everyone moved on to using other gold processors. Be fucking careful if you know what you're doing in that world, you can make money, otherwise if you don't know what HYIP is, do months of due diligence before "playing" those games or don't do it at all, you'll get burned.

I Agree with Nikky, that is logical.
why the hell would someone need investment if he can get 24%? take a loan from the bank at 7% and then return it and keep the extras in your pocket? why would you involve others in something that is PURE profit according to you? its nuts! such high percentage can barely be done by playing stocks. sounds like a plot to scam people, i saw this shit happens 100 times, millionaires make huge funds to play in the fields of "gas or so" people invest and they run on them, and people loose all their $. |
It sounds like an investment where you buy a bag of white powder from one person and sell it to another at a 24% markup.
|

1. You are not going to get 7% on a loan of that type. Whether borrowing on a personal leve, or for business purposes. 2. Add in credit rating. Not everyone is in the 700's 3. Not everyone is a home owner, or has a car, jetski, etc paid off to use as collateral. 4. If you are ACTUALLY IN THIS BUSINESS full time, then you are self employed. If you do not have hard assets, you will have to have your accountant work up a year to date of your business. You will need a minimum of two years of tax returns. Maybe more docs depending on bank, or credit union. 5. The credit crunch, and some banks not giving loans of this nature. What I always find humorous in these threads are the amount of GFY millionares speaking out of their asses about how easy it is for EVERYONE to just go walk in the bank and grab some unsecured debt/loan at a killer interest rate no questions asked. It's bullshit. :2 cents: |
24% for just writing a check is insane. Does this have anything to do with Nigeria?
I know of someone who thought she was investing $15,000 at a high rate of return. She knew someone else it was working out for, so she went for it. The payments came for a few months and then stopped. From the looks of things he was making good on initial payments to get his name out there before disappearing with the investments. |

I'll bet you it's a plumbing business. I hear they are raking in the dough nowadays.
