And which brand is the best?

Half the idiots will say LCD is better. But a Plasma is better.

smart money is in PROJECTION! 100" goodness 1080p projectors start in the $3k range. Have a problem with it? Not many parts to possibly NEED repair. Simply bulb replacement.

I actually got a nice 720p projector in a best buy clearance for $600 so got it and said FUCK holding out for 1080p

get that and a popcorn hour for all your mkv playback in a nice little box. Get the SATA one and drop a 1Tb drive in and plug in a USB 1Tb drive and you could have EVERYTHING you could ever want at your fingertips...

Choose a brand that has a higher ratio contrast for the system display.

I prefer my 65" Mitsubishi LCD over all of my plasmas. I don't notice much of a difference between them, but the plasmas are a pain in the ass with the screen burns (leaving a dvd menu on will burn the images into the screen on a plasma). I personally will be buying LCD in the future as opposed to more plasmas.
