Videographers..Let's talk microphones

I have been using a Sennheiser MKE 300 series mic for a few years now on more than one of my cameras and it worked great for a relatively inexpensive item, but the cable must be frayed inside now because the sound cuts out when I move it. So I am in the market for a new on-camera shotgun style mic for filming porn. What do you guys like for your video cameras?

Booms are great for indoors or on private property if you have someone that can handle them properly, but when you do some outdoor filming in public, it's hard to stay low profile when your boom guy is shadowing you, he he. Especially with the way my girls sometimes dress. :upsidedow

I use that when i'm in the studio with a wireless transmitter and the Sennhiser MKE 400 for street or small spots like bathrooms. it is small and great for street pick ups. But make sure to get the wind sock attachment with it.

When its to windy i opt for onboard. My on boards really works well on my Canon A1 and Sony in windy conditions.

Sennheiser Mic all the way!!!:2 cents:

Cool, I was looking at the MKE 400, since it's the closest to what I used to have and less expensive then the 300 series model. Free shipping from B&H too!
