Blog Organizer vs. Wordpress MU
Hello everyone. I am thinking about purchasing Blog Organizer to create hundreds of handwritten blogs over a couple of months. However, I'm also thinking of using Wordpress MU to create these blogs. It will probably be a combination of hundreds of subdomain names and new domain names.
Questions: 1. If you're using Blog Organizer, how do you like? Is it worth the money? 2. How does Blog Organizer compare to Wordpress MU? Wordpress MU has a strong community of supporters that'll create and allow me to have hundreds of free templates, hundreds of wonderful plugins, etc. 3. Is there any difference in getting your website included into the search engines? I mean, is one software better than the other when it comes to getting your websites ranked quickly and getting some decent traffic? Thanks |
Ive never used Blog Organizer, I am currently using MU, seems to get the job done, pretty easy to manage, easy to import blog settings from one to another to make a mass amounts of blogs in a short amount of time. I have had decent results in SE's with the short time i've been using it

I've played around with blogs organizer and hated it.

wordpress mu is good

It depends what you are trying to do.. Both have their advantages in their own areas. WP MU is only for one domain though, unless you go through a lot of trouble editing stuff and then I'm still not sure if it can work on seprate domains with out problems.

Blogs Organizer - you can run 100s of blogs on diiferent domains which can be hosted on different hosts
Wordpress MU - runs 100s of blogs on one domain |
|
Blog Organizer would be the way to go if it had the killer plugins, like the SEO Optimizer that you can get for wordpress.
|
I use both, they generate completely different types of blogs, I recommend using both
|
I also use both but template wise WP has much more possibilities
|
Wordpress MU is just good for subdomains. Other than that for a single or a few blogs wordpress is better than BO because of the related entries / similar posts and tag plugins but you don'T want to manage 100 installations of wordpress... So if blog-mass creation is what you want to do there is no way around Blogs Organizer ;-) I really hope kaktusan includes those important options in the next version, then BO would be PERFECT!

Actually i'm running a Wpmu based blog, it's working really nice and posting it's not a problem, with new wpmu version all it's more stable and SE optimized.. You may want to try my wpmu based free hosting. Try it on Adultblogpress.com and let me know what you think about

Just a little offtopic:
I have this autoupdate plugin installed on my wordpress installations but I still have to click each time an update is available for the plugins. Is there any possibility to create a totally self updating wordpress site? I don't mean the posts of course, I mean wordpress itself and the plugins. |

but you can create self-updating wordpress blog and I mean the posts, two ways to do this: 1.feeds 2.download the database, add say 10 000 posts, change their dates so they get publishes say 20 posts per day, import the database (use bigdump if the database is too big) and there you have it ;). How do you create these 10 000 posts is entirely up to you, use FHGs, free sites, hosted flvs, whatever. Well, if you can hand write all of them by all means go for it... |
