Ever felt the pressure of multitasking?
Happened to me for the first time.
So here I am doing like... uploading videos photoshopping IMing with 7 people uploading files to an ftp server writing several emails browsing gfy and doing lots of other shit at the same time And all of the sudden I just start forgetting about what I was doing. For example, once the video uploaded itself, I wanted to do several things with it. Totally forgot about it. Almost finished a pic in photoshop and also forgot about it. Wanted to configure scripts once the files were uploaded and forgot about it. Was sitting here with a WTF on my face on what I wanted to do. I guess I need another 3 monitors.. |
about a month ago I was multitasking in my car
I looked down at my b.l.a.c.k.b.e.r.r.y for a sec and bammmm slammed into the truck in front of me because he stopped quick, $5000 later, it wasn't a fun day |
That's how it always is for me, but as long as everything gets done I don't mind. I've tried to focus on one thing and what ends up happening is I start jumping to other things non work related and fucking up. But if I just have a word doc running, wordpress running, photoshop and ICQ, i can usually juggle between writing for someone, writing for my sites, making logos and what not and talking on ICQ/MSN.
Otherwise it would be any one of those windows and for example youtube which I've spent countless hours slacking away at. I love the pressure though, keeps me filled with a sense of urgency that I otherwise wouldn't feel at all |

Get a notepad (real one) and a pen, right down all the shit you need to do and tick it on 1 by 1. It's not multitasking, but I tell you what.... it works!

I can't work on just a couple things. I always have several things whirling around each other at once.
