Joomla, Drupal, or Wordpress: which do you prefer?
Which CMS do you prefer and why? How scalable is Joomla?
|
wordpress, so much more can be done with it.
|
Wordpress, because it was the first one I tried so I just went with it.
|
Drupal is super extendable with tons of modules out there and a big developer community.
|
wordpress :)
|
Me, I love Wordpress.
|
<< has had sex with Wordpress and never looked back....
</end horny bot poster 6.9> |
I just started a few sites (mainstream) with joomla after not using it for several years am pretty happy with the development of the script so far.
|
It depends on what you want to do. For more of a text based format with simple pics and videos I'd say wordpress for sure.
If you want more media content delivery, better community features and plug in apps go with joomla. If you want to build it out into something far more than what comes stock then Drupal is the ticket. |
POrnwolf hit it - Depends on what you want in the end - Wordpress is the standard - Drupal is more complicated but covers a lot! You can make community blogs out of joomla. IMplement digg it features and the whole nine.
|
I love Drupal and it has the flexibility and power but you almost have to be a Drupal rockstar or genius to take advantage of that. You need to be more than the average coder or designer and should be capable of doing both to really shape it.
It's probably much easier for the average person to do more with Wordpress or Joomla. |

Joomla = Drupal + thousands of pre-made add ons and templates.
Drupal is made for people that know how to get their hands dirty under the hood. |

I need it for my next project--a mainstream finance portal. I've been eying Joomla for a while now. The more I read about it and chat with people, it seems "full of win".

with joomla you never even need to get under the hood, the 100,000,000 extensions do anything and everything, and they do it in SUCH a better way than drupal ever wished it could |

If I planed on building a custom site I would start with ModX CMS. It's a much better platform to start with but lacks a large user/devlopment base.
Joomla I've played with a few times, but it just seems so bulky. I have started using WP lately for some new sites, but mainly only because of the uugallery plug in. |
I am building at restaurant site with wordpress. My client wanted to post his daily specials instead of faxing them out everyday. He also wanted to promote his holiday specials and gift baskets.

Drupal is out of control but nice in the longrun... |
wordpress just because its quick and easy and I know it like the back of my hand. Sure it can be a little bloated, but you can adjust that.
|
all my blogs are powered by wordpress and always have been
here's one for example http://www.jdgirl.com/ |
wordpress is the best )
|
google loves wordpress.Think about future, think about SEO: Wordpress rullez.
|
Wordpress ftw :thumbsup
|
You can get very nice wordpress templates on templatemonster.com.
|
I personally prefer Wordpress cause it's easy to use and when you get writers to write for your blogs, the standard is Wordpress.
I've done many complex Drupal sites however, and they offer crazy extensions. Heck, The Onion, is made completely out of Drupal. |
We like them all
But the best for SEO and strong SERP results is Word Press The google bot knows a word press site and how to read its content as a result of the API. Second would be drupal. Joomla sites are hacked so often its not even funny and most often the exploits allow complete server takeover. |
Wordpress is ok
|
wordpress all the way!
|
Wordpress 'cause I didn't have a deal with Drupal or Joomla.
