Have any of you had a host remove your domain before?
I've been trying to add a domain to my virtual hosting account, and the hosting company has removed it twice now. At first I thought maybe there was some issue on the backend that didn't process the domain addition, so I added it again. The current status is "Pending Removal".
The domain is obviously for a joke site. No it isn't Bestiality, CP or anything illegal. There is 1 word in it that I am sure is causing this issue, however it is not racist, illegal or even distasteful. Isn't it the host's job to "host" their client's sites? Who decided it was okay for a host to remove a domain simply based on the domain name, without any complaints or questionable material on it? ICANN allowed me to register the name... Shouldn't the host be obligated to host it? What do you think about this? I'm a little irritated by this and am considering just canceling the account based on the principal of the matter. |

What's the word in question? |
I would think a host as a private business could do whatever the hell it wants to as far as what it will or will not host.
Am curious about the one word you speak of. Also curious what host this is as most would not care what domain names you have on your hosting account (content is another matter). Typically these types of off the way problems are often associated with "never heard of them before" hosts. |
Now I want to know what it is ......so please tell.

The domain is TerroristFriendFinder.com

I think if I owned a hosting company I may not want that on a server in my building, especially if you protected your whois and they only had my address to blow up. :winkwink: |
Not surprisingly terrorism is a sensitive issue. Not too many hosts are going to want to touch that imho.

there should be nothing wrong with the word terrorism.
the KKK can run actual sites that are terrorist in nature bayouknights.com A woman was just killed during a KKK initiation in my state, and she joined through the KKK web site. How can this be ok to allow, but oh no, a friend finder related site |
It's a kind of twisted humor some people may not share, I personally think it's great, but the government is overreacting alot on the issue, the host could be scared that anyone may have a closer look at them...and probably for other reasons.
