tony286 11-28-2008 07:17 PM

sounds great if you are photographing images for bill boards

JasonSmokes 11-28-2008 07:20 PM

I pick up my Canon EOS 1D Mark III Tomorrow.. 10.1 megapixels is good for me. I've got the mark II and it's been rock solid for 4 years.

good gear for sure... nikon glass here on my end. personally don't think I'll get a 24.5 MP body. I'll rent one if I need the 'hump' for something.

Used nikon gear for a day when shooting for a daily paper, took about an hour to get used to. But I prefer Canon, It's not backwards :upsidedow

that's kinda silly really.... even the canon guys I know admit that nikon is easier to access and use. I found the 5d to me completely strange to operate.

for instance aperture and shutter are A and S, on nikon. very simple really, with the canon it's some other weird thing that I had to ask someone about... the asa is on the off on switch, that also allows you to set the f stop... or something strange like that... I'm trying desperately to forget all my canon experiences...

that my friend is not user friendly. too many convolutions to access very simple things. produced some nice images though

My first camera was a Canon T-90 then Canon EOS 1n, Then I waited for the 1D Mark II, to each his own I guess. I've got a pile of canon lenses can't switch now ;-)

Sounds pretty good :thumbsup

My D3 is serving me just fine, thank you very much. I am sure that there's going to be shooters that will appreciate the large sensor for print, especially considering the price advantage over Canon's 24mp model.

I'd sure like to shoot the d3x for a day to check out the files and IQ. I agree though the d3/d700 are great imagers
