newbie, lots of questions help!
 

I have a musical promotions, marketing, & production backround. recently transitioned into porn. spent the greater part of the past 6 months shooting exclusive content and making sure I am legal. studied legalities, 2257, and overall video shoots. ok, here's where you laugh: I thought the hard part was over!
i got a basic design to my site, am still waiting on about 1/3 of my content from my editor, and was hoping that Id just load it to the net and it would sell if i promoted it. Then, I realize sites like "the huns", "sublime directory" etc wont just accept what i have been calling teaser pages (you call FHG pages) unless i jump through several loops and provide "reciprocals" etc and now Im like ~~holy shit this is more than I ever expected seeing i do not have a webmaster and know the bare minimum when it comes to html. so, what my site looks like is intentional so I can at least control and manipulate it cause anything flash or beyond html is beyond my reach.

we call our niche "comedy porn". mixed with hip-hop and silly antics (many of which have not been uploaded quite yet).
but now i am realising and hearing that its not your content that makes you $$$ but more your affiliates and links that do.

sorry, I am lost. i will invest 30-40 hours a week on top of my day job to make this happen. i have already spent sleepless nights working things ou in my head. but i need guidance.

heres what i have been thinking about doing: my current affiliates give me some decent free content...can I list them like a site like "the huns" in my links section and establish my own little free pics and videos galleries via my affiliates free content to drive people to my site? i was thinking about using all the free content offered by affialites to make my site look large than it is because in the next month when all my footage is ready..I will only have about 10 exclusive full length videos. several alternative cumshot endings, a couple of gag reels, and some random tit shot and jackass style footage from my endeavors. my number is 321-216-7496 just call me (ROB) screw icq, ai mand all that shit i need some help.....your help will not go unrewarded. what i lack in knowledge, i make up for in tenacity. and thats no lie

I guess your direction it`s lost because you started up with paysites at first time and not free sites , to understand the hole system.But you can fix this shit with a little bit hard work.
For the begining , i would recommend you to chose some kind of free sites from: blogs,TGPs,MGPs,Free site,Link List,Top Sites and learn about them.
Let us know your next move.

I would start with a blog. Its simple and easy to find trades.

Having exclusive content will make you money in the long run. Especially if you have a unique niche, as you described, and can keep the content coming. But yes, you need people bringing you traffic first and foremost.

I think you can probably start with a blog and make some money there as well as push traffic to your paysite from it...

Also don't expect to make money overnight... but just keep plugging away it will start coming in eventually.

And with paysites just make sure to give your current members a reason to keep paying their subscription fees (updates, prize incentives, etc)

having the paysite is a good start and you can get traffic to it. But you need to take it a few steps further.

What is the whole theme of the BTK?

I would run with the whole rapper turned pornstar thing - bring that to the first page and make it the theme of the site. Talk more about why you got out of the rap world and picked up a camera. Make your site more personal - bring the radio show into it - then blog about it - start a myspace page - add friends and promote yourself... The hard part it done - the content - now you have to shift gears and turn into a promotions machine.

good advice. and thanks. the hottie is veronika raquel. not exclusive, but definitely not used enough or the way i used her anyway. the whole rap/comedy/porn thing we're trying to push is a straight sex niche but with more than arousel. we're hoping we get as many members who are there to laugh as we get those to jerk off. but its a new frontier. your whole reality comedy sitcom type of thing with fucking in the middle of it. will take your advice and over the top our subtle imagery and just tell everyone flat out. any other advice would be great. one thing I am concerned with is our trailers contain as much non nudity as sex. my editor said he wanted to get the point across that its more than just a fuck video but sex is what we're selling so i am still hesitant to not go to a straight 45 second fuck trailer

Welcome to the Board...blogs are definitely the way to go if you're just starting out, but if you can grab a good deal of traffic to your site and have some money for the initial investment, that paysite wouldn't be bad.

welcome, and u sure are taking one big step. u really should hire someone knowledgable or who actually knows what he's doing.

read, and read alot. google or use the search function. there's many articles on setting up your own porn site
