KILLERS, the new U2?

Just listen to the new CD.

Simply awesome, these guys are real Artists!

Will they be the next U2?

axelcat 12-11-2008 11:29 AM

My favorite band by far

BradM 12-11-2008 11:29 AM

Fuck I hope so. I like em a lot. I had the first album before the big stations overplayed it like 6 years ago or whenever it was now. I love thier stuff.

Rochard 12-11-2008 11:51 AM

The Killers rock. I love their stuff. The new album is great too!

LauraLee 12-11-2008 12:23 PM

Their new album is excellent. I am sure they have a huge future ahead of themselves, however, living up to U2's longevity will remain to be seen.

uno 12-11-2008 12:27 PM

I only like the 2 singles off the first album. The rest of the stuff is meh.

Evil Chris 12-11-2008 12:30 PM

I've liked most of their stuff to date. They have the stuff.

But to the same level of U2? Hard to say.... time will tell.

they will be U2 if they last for the next 20 years..so the answer is no

Ayla_SquareTurtle 12-11-2008 12:55 PM

Strange that you make that comparison. I've always thought U2 was extremely overrated and I don't like anything I've heard from the Killers yet either, though that's only a few songs. So I guess for me, the comparison is pretty apt so far.

WebairGerard 12-11-2008 01:02 PM

a few good songs but overall i am not fan

Kristian 12-11-2008 01:05 PM

Let you know in 30 years. :)

stoner529 12-12-2008 06:34 AM

in know way shape or form will anyone ever be the next u2. u2s new album is due out very soon and will probably blow everyone away. seeing as how the band have managed to go 30 years so far. no band has yet to stay togethere that long and still have the new stuff played on the radio. most of em just release the album and the old fans buy it. it is not possible to compare anyone to u2 with the creativity and orginality that come from them. the live stage presence has never been seen from anyone that i can think of that bono has as well. seeing them 6 times in concert and 4 times right near the catwalks is just the most impressive show ive ever been too.. ive been to alot of concerts. from peter paul and mary, neil diamond. to stp and bush just to give the range of wierd diversity. u2 blows everyone away, im never in an arena were the whole crowd is singing every song. usually they just listen. killers will be lucky to last 15 years. i remember at one point people thought creed would last forever. they broke up along with limp bizkit and stp of course, not to mention gnr, van halen cant keep the original band for more then 1 second. as well as the almighty metallica. u2 same band, same crew for 30 years. cant beat that.

AmeliaG 12-12-2008 06:41 AM

I'm not sure The Killers are change-the-world good, but I love that guy's voice and Bono's makes my teeth itch.

tranza 12-12-2008 06:47 AM

I don't think so, but they're great too!

CaptainHowdy 12-12-2008 06:48 AM

"Sam's Town" is incredible... gotta check their new stuff.

polish_aristocrat 12-12-2008 08:39 AM

never heard them yet (really)

gonna check them out though since I always loved U2

cykoe6 12-12-2008 08:44 AM

So you are trying to say that they will suck for decades as well?

officegirl 12-12-2008 08:47 AM

no, i think coldplay are the new U2 - please dont start all that Joe Satriani shit, he's just riding on the back of them with his 6 minute instrumental wanking off shit!

bronco67 12-12-2008 08:54 AM

They're good, but it may be a little too soon to make comparisons like that.

Maybe you just like them a lot.

TeenCat 12-12-2008 10:40 AM

no paul mccartney is new u2 :) http://www.thefiremanmusic.com/home :)

Drake 12-12-2008 11:17 AM

U2 has sucked for almost 20 years.

adult-help 12-12-2008 12:21 PM

It's to early to talk about it. Time will show.
Btw, I like Killers but haven't heard their last album.

CaptainHowdy 12-12-2008 12:23 PM

I just heard the song SPACEMAN and it rocked my perianal zone = :thumbsup!

Kudles 12-12-2008 02:12 PM

I love the killers

stoner529 12-12-2008 05:44 PM

peoples opinions are funny as to what they consider sucking. i guess even though u2 sold out every show for the past 2 tours, that counts as sucking. as far as ive heard they are definatley the most creative band over the last 20 years.

TeenSluts 12-12-2008 05:49 PM

u2 sux.. the killers suck. YES!

papill0n 12-12-2008 07:12 PM

extremely doubtful

Agreed! Coldplay is quality, art, original. Comparing Killers to U2 is like comparing The Monkeys to The Beatles, no actually not even.. :2 cents:

kahell 12-13-2008 05:08 AM

U2 is been in the pedestal for 3 decades now

MOxxx 05-28-2009 05:00 PM

i didn't know what thread to bump...so i choose this one :thumbsup

The Flaming lips are going to be the next Pink Floyd, Wilco is the next Eagles but I think your right about Coldplay. They are positioned to be the next decades crossing mega band like U2, more so than The Killers.

BTW - That riff was a direct rip but who cares. Look at Zeppelin stealing Dazed and Confused didn't hurt them any.

crockett 05-28-2009 05:19 PM

I don't think they have any songs I don't like, a good group for sure.

voa 05-28-2009 07:03 PM

Not bad at all

CaptainHowdy 05-28-2009 08:17 PM

Nice bump I guess...

cherrylula 05-28-2009 08:28 PM

it would be really difficult to achieve the level of douchebag of Bono at this point...

bronco67 05-28-2009 09:49 PM

Here's some brilliant lyrics by these geniuses....

Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It's not confidential
I've got potential

Mr. Cool Ice 05-29-2009 03:08 AM

The next U2?

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

nico-t 05-29-2009 04:55 AM

u2 and the killers, both extremely lame and boring rock music..... so yea... non-memorable gay ass songs, everything sounds the same

btw coldplay is in exactly the same league.... cant stand those whiners!

TheDoc 05-29-2009 05:14 AM

Great... another half soft rock wanna be band that you can find in 100 local bars in just about any city in North America.

The wife likes Killers, and I'm not sure why. I'm not a u2 fan either... but come on, just listen to the lyrics. The experience shines through.

Now Floyd.. that's true music mastery!

GTS Mark 05-29-2009 07:14 AM

The Killers are good (I really enjoy their music) but not in the same league as U2. Not even close...
