Need a Virtual Hosting account - No Webair or Nakedhosting

Apparently my nakedhosting account for testing cant handle 500 hits a day without getting 50% 503 server errors, and the support dont think its a problem. I wonder why they call it "biz plan"

so if you know of a good shared/virtual hosting plan with unlimited domains, let me know

They need to have a support staff that know what they are doing, and it should be 24/7 support

Im sorry to hear that.

Basic_man 12-15-2008 08:24 AM

500 hits a day? What server are you on? That's not credible..

Machete_ 12-15-2008 08:26 AM

Both me and the clients kept getting 503 server errors (Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems)

I contacted the support.

Quote:

Tech Support: Hello :) How can I help you today?

Kristoffer W. Hansen: hi, domain topnakedness.com
Kristoffer W. Hansen: i keep getting a error
Kristoffer W. Hansen: Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Tech Support: ok
Tech Support: the sire appears to be up for me....
Tech Support: site

Kristoffer W. Hansen: 50% of the time i get that error
Kristoffer W. Hansen: try refresh it a few times
Kristoffer W. Hansen: or checkthe server stats forthe 503 error

Tech Support: refreshed multiple times and all seems to be OK

Kristoffer W. Hansen: well, I get calles from my clients from australia and denmark, and they get the same error
Kristoffer W. Hansen: 503 error is a server generated errormessage, so its what your server tells me. its not a client or routing issue

Tech Support: normally that is related to abusing the site like leeching
Tech Support: yes that is true

Kristoffer W. Hansen: its a testing account with mas 500 hits a day.. are you telling me you cant handle 500 hits a day?

Tech Support: I'm sure that it can handle 500 hits no problem

Kristoffer W. Hansen: Seriously, this is making me quite angry. Would you please try and understand what it is im saying.. its a 503 error, its SERVER generated. and you keep telling me that there isent a issue...
Kristoffer W. Hansen: there IS a issue. I get calles from my clients that get the SAME error.
Kristoffer W. Hansen: and you first tell me its a leaching problem, then that it should be able to handle 500 hits a day..
Kristoffer W. Hansen: can you make up your mind?

IP [204.15.253.99]

as you can see in the support history, and if you contact Kacy, this is not exactly the first time there have been problems

HostHead is working for mine sites ok.... And they have good support...

HorseShit 12-15-2008 08:48 AM

I know someone who got a new box at nakedhosting and it was wicked slow from the get go and barely pushing any traffic

phatservers is the only way to go

halfpint 12-15-2008 08:48 AM

Hi if you are looking for cheap hosting than try HOSTGATOR
I had over 1200 hits a day on one of my sites hosted with them with no problems. Their uptime is also very good

Just sharing my experience with this company, but thanks for putting me in my place, I'll get right on that today.

I will look into your issue and get it resolved for you :)

tranza 12-15-2008 09:20 AM

I opened your site, and reloaded it several times, and never got that error.

Runetek 12-15-2008 09:22 AM

You can check http://www.exmasters.com/virtual/ - many virtual plans to choose and even the smaller one is able to handle more than 500 visitors :)

bufferover 12-15-2008 09:37 AM

CyberWurx are nice but they ain't so cheap

Look.
  • SMTP works
  • POP3 works
  • FTp works
  • I can ping it (becaues the reply is from the NIC)
  • A traceroute show no problems (becaues it stops at the NIC)

50% of the times the sites are loaded, they get a 503 error...

Its not rocket science really, unless you are 100% clueless about hosting

Long story short - when I went in to the hospital, they closed my server and a lot of my domains went out of googles index.

I dont blame them for what they do, but I dont want to use them again. They are one of the top 3 hosts I have ever used. Only had very few problems there. I have recommended them to other people since, but its not the right place for me

do your saled department answer the icq or do i need to send them a mail?

Or maybe you could answer it. How much traffic can the "Enterprise" packaga handle? i got some static gallery pages that gets 30k hits a few days a week, and then nothing the rest of the month. Is that something it could manage without getting 503 errors?

HorseShit 12-15-2008 11:43 AM

I've pushed 20k-30k/uniques a day with each user doing at least 5mb on phatservers cheapest virtual with no problems :thumbsup

From their site

Extra dedicated IP. Must be justified accordingly to Arin guidelines ($1.00 CAD Monthly + $5.00 CAD Setup Fee)

I'll throw in the dedicated IP for free.

Epass payment is not automated, unless you use the virtual visa from Epass like a credit card.

Do you have a problem with people using virtual accounts? why would I waste money on a dedicated box when all my sites are purely testing and development?

I'm not a gallery/traffic guy like you.

Good VPS setups today are as stable as dedicated boxes

I run several hosted win2008 terminal server solutions for my Infrastructure customers, based on Microsoft's Virtual servers. I'm sorry if that somehow dont fits your idea of doing things, but that is not my fucking problem.

It's okay tiger, one day you'll probably be able to step up and afford the $200 for big boy hosting. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Seriously, whats your problem? I make most of my money in IT infrastructure. A'm I somehow less qualified to be here since I spend my time making sure other people make money from their traffic and sites, rather than spend time submitting galleries or writing blogs?

I buy enough IBM servers to buy directly at the European hardware brokers. I doubt you can say the same, but that dont make me call you a lesser business man.

You are starting to sound like Sleazydream.. and that is not a compliment

No, I think you've got me all wrong.

What I'm saying is you're a fucking fool always running your mouth about this or that, when in actual fact, you don't know a god damned thing about anything.

You dont even know what I do.. you are sleazydream v2.0
Then let me quote him once more; "idiot"

Unlike some people, I dont need to run around a namedrop. But grats on your GFY celebrity status, I'm sure you can pay many bills with your postcount.

I don't have to know what you do. I just have to know how you value your own time to gauge.

For instance, my little projects, some SEO playgrounds, different dev enviroments and what not could easily be put on virtual hosting to save a little money here in there. However, it's not worth my time to have to deal with just one problem, never mind to have to search out a new virtual host, etc etc when a dedicated 2008 Server (for example) comes in under $200.

My time is more valuable than the $200 a month bill. Clearly yours is not. I'm not really shocked that yours isn't, because like I said, you've got nothing to say and you spend way too much time saying it too loudly.

but then you DO have time to make 10k trolling posts on gfy? You can take that "my time is valuable"-line and shove it up your pompous ass, because that line falls FLAT coming from your mouth.

I got a new hosting account with http://www.pdghosting.com and warCHILD got a chance to try and dickslap someone with his E-penis. It's just a shame I'm taller than he expected.

As far as I'm concerned, I got what I needed. What the Sleazydream v2.0 is looking, he wont find trying to hump my leg
