US Airways - Im not happy with you!

So i just booked my flight to Vegas in Janurary for Internext/AVN with US Airways.

btw, if anyone has an extra Internext pass for my gf, hit me up... ill show you naked pictures when were drunk :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I used Amex points to buy the tickets, but have enough frequent flyer miles in my US account to upgrade my gf's seats, plus I have a credit on my account for my seats. So I call them, and they tell me that I CANT upgrade my seats because the credit is on another flight, even tho there is a note on my account for the upgrade. I have to now write to them about this... even though this is AFTER i spoke to three people including a supervisor.

now im pissed, but its getting worse... they go to upgrade my gf's seat, but the woman does ONE WAY upgrade which is 15k miles. She goes to do the other and says I dont have enough miles. Im like uhh no I have 26k miles and its 25k for the upgrade and then she tells me how because she did it this way, I cant upgrade the other leg of the flight unless I buy miles.

now im really pissed and she transfers me to the department that handles this, but they are closed so I have to call back. Ive been on hold for almost 30 minutes and another lady picks up the phone and i have to tell her what happened, then I have to tell her again because she cant understand why that was done and says there is nothing they can do. And my credit... she says I have to pay $150 to have the miles put back into my account then I can upgrade. This is not true and she is wrong, but doesnt believe me so I ask (nicely) to speak to a supervisor. She says "sure" and im on hold for 15 minutes and someone picks up and HANGS UP!

now im steamed and im on hold over over 30 minutes now calling back. meanwhile, as im listening they now charge $2 for a soda in coach class. seriously? wow, how cheap. Ive been flying with delta for the past 2 years, but wanted to use up this credit and miles I have before my silver status with us airways runs out... now I really really regret booking the tickets with them :mad:

just wanted to share... g'nite!

airline travel sucks, especially now. been charging for drinks for the past few mos. airlines aren't making $$ so gotta charge for everything. think safety belts are next.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh that or "your emergency oxygen masks are $10 and $15 for every 30 seconds or oxygen. you can prepay a full tank now for $100 or when the time comes you will have to pay by the 30 second timer, but please note that prices are subject to change during that time"

a guy i was sitting next to on a recent flight (he was old) was telling me how he misses the times when air travel was a luxury rather than a mass transit system. people were polite, meals were nice but the prices were higher but they were worth it.

i keep thinking tho people these days pretty much HAVE to fly, so why not jack up the rates even more. sure people are going to bitch but they will have to pay for it. id rather pay $10 or $20 more per ticket than have to worry when im boarding the plane "shit, do i have $2 to buy a drink on the 5 hour plane ride?"

are people actually buying them?

i flew 1st class with them a few weeks ago and noticed ALOT of ppl coming on with their own drinks now..

Just get the black card and you'll have automatic platinum status on US Airways and always get free upgrades to first for yourself and a companion. :)

Seriously, though, yes - all air travel sucks unless it's private or first class. I can't even fucking believe some of the airlines won't even sell you a damn sandwich in coach on long flights.

At the point where I'm hungry on a flight from Detroit to LA I don't want a stupid box filled with shit, I'd pay any amount of money for a real meal. :(

I have Gold status with Delta and Silver with US Air, but no match for Chairman or Platinum you get with the centurion beneift :( everytime I fly now I always bring a "backup sandwhich" because you never know if your going to get fed or not.

Im waiting for my black card invite any day now, Ive spent the needed amount now for almost 2 years, but no card in my mailbox today. My buddies biz partner just got his last week and has been burning up $500k a year on his biz card for over 3 years now, so i guess i have a while to wait.

I know you probably dont remember me, but we were in a room with a few other people at the Palms last year and I was talking about my platinum card and how I was abusing the concierge service every time I was drunk to try and get hookups for clubs in Vegas and you whipped out your card to show me whats up :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I've been finding that the gold status on Delta is good to use if you have to fly Northwest - better since the merger, for sure.

The black card invitations are mostly myth, just call and apply! :)

As long as they dont charge extra to use the bathrooms on the plane, it's all good ... I can see it now... "Sir, we'll have to charge you by the turd, sorry" LOL
