Not really .... I work on a 14" IBM and have an external screen connected .... But if I am remote ( out of office), I dont carry the flat screen, so this could be a nice feature when needed.

BTW, for the haters, I also have a HP 17" laptop ( heavy as a donkey ), and 2 desktop stations.... and am going to buy a netbook ( 8" ) during the holidays.

I had that idea for a while now, but my idea was to have them like a clam shell where it folded out instead of pulled out. That would be very helpful to those of us that need more than one monitor when working on the road.
