How many gfy users have health insurance?

I have mine through my job...who here actually has health insurance? :thumbsup

mikesinner 12-27-2008 02:50 PM

Most webmasters probably can't afford it these days.

BusterBunny 12-27-2008 02:50 PM

CurrentlySober 12-27-2008 02:52 PM

In the UK = National Health service = Free :)

geedub 12-27-2008 02:58 PM

none for 4 years now

mynameisjim 12-27-2008 03:00 PM

I did, but it turned out to be cheaper just to go to medical school and become my own doctor.

But I actually do, it's shitty though like all insurance even though it costs a fortune. They fight you on everything

davecummings 12-27-2008 03:04 PM

At almost 69 years of age, I'll probably be needing health help soon. I'm covered by the military's Tricare-For-Life, by Medicare, and by the VA which has a major and very efficient Medical Center six blocks from me here in San Diego.

I also do a lot of preventive stuff, like the 30 miles of brisk walking in the last seven days covered with sun block (The Navy medical Center here has operated on my face three times over the past five years for skin cancers, plus they screen me every 3-4 months for additional pre-cancer spots which they freeze off). We ALL need to be preventive, I feel!

Sosa 12-27-2008 03:05 PM

My s-corp pays for my health insurance.

pocketkangaroo 12-27-2008 03:07 PM

Always have and always will. Think it's crazy not to.

pornask 12-27-2008 03:08 PM

Alberta Health Insurance :)

OG LennyT 12-27-2008 03:08 PM

Blue Cross/Blue Shield

CDSmith 12-27-2008 03:11 PM

I'm covered under something a lot of Americans like to refer to as the evil socialized medicine. So evil. So aweful. It's real name: Manitoba Medical.

And I love it.

plyndrty 12-27-2008 03:12 PM

I have dual coverage. United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

GAMEFINEST 12-27-2008 03:12 PM

I have united healthcare by pacificare ...some shit like that

PR|Jordan 12-27-2008 03:14 PM

SilentKnight 12-27-2008 03:15 PM

OHIP (Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan)

But aside from the lacklustre coverage of OHIP, our family is covered under my wife's benefit package where she works. Major dental, eyeglasses, prescrips...the works.

The Heron 12-27-2008 03:31 PM

Blue Cross Blue Shield, not that expensive in my mind.

directfiesta 12-27-2008 03:35 PM

bobby666 12-27-2008 03:38 PM

tony286 12-27-2008 07:38 PM

I got Kaiser and have had it for probably 12 yrs. Even when I was working for someone else, that way no bullshit, it was with me.

PurrrsianPussyKat 12-27-2008 07:44 PM

We have blue cross/blue shield. It's excellent coverage. Just went to the er on xmas because I hurt my ankle. $25 co pay is all I'll get billed. :)

Do you know what your cap is? Caz through your job, and especially if they pay part or all of the bill ... you prob. got nothing worth speaking on.

I got a community hospital - fuck it. They can't refuse anyone ... shhh, dont tell anyone - but us poor folks call that free healthcare.

HomerSimpson 12-27-2008 08:50 PM

I have it...
In my country it's not an option...

Jman 12-27-2008 08:54 PM

I have had mine since birth

Dave,
I just saw a photo of you in the latest Xbiz (I think that was it) and your face does not look 69 years. Did the operations on your face pull your skin tighter or what? You look great man!

hypedough 12-27-2008 10:49 PM

Bought Blue Shield for myself, great investment in the long run.

Nothing cosmetic, though the female military Dermatology surgeons were very conscientious about scarring---I told them that I didn't care what I'd look like, I just wanted them to get that cancer out of me. The upper lip was 9 stitches, the one on the base of my nose was 18 stitches but is mostly hidden by the "laugh line" crease, and the third one was on the side of the nose and had no stitches but was "babied" along with constant ointments while the scar healed (there's a sorta "crater" there, now). Thanks for the kind comments, but I am indeed a old man:-).

Please make certain your loved ones use sun block!

pr0 12-28-2008 12:12 AM

I got it thank god.....a few years ago I didn't, worst mistake i ever made :2 cents:

I suggest everyone go out & at least spend $100 a month on "emergency/catastrophic" insurance.

Redrob 12-28-2008 12:21 AM

I use BC/BS and the business pays 100% coverage for all my full-time employees.

shahab6 12-28-2008 12:24 AM

I have health insurance through my school I paid $1200 for one year which iisn't bad

cosis 12-28-2008 12:27 AM

i got it and it's expensive, paying over a grand a month for my family

Redrob 12-28-2008 12:30 AM

Dave is right about the sun block. I'm an ex-Army Sergeant and I can tell you that I make a yearly trip to the dermotologist for a checkup.

I usually come out looking like I've been in a fight.

kane 12-28-2008 12:47 AM

I have basic emergency/catastrophic type coverage, but since I have asthma I can't buy any insurance that will cover anything asthma related so I pay for my medicine and doctor visits out of my own pocket for that.

The funny thing is if I were to get a job for a company that had health insurance my asthma would be covered, but since I am an individual I can't get it because I am a "poor investment" and would actually use the insurance.

Chris Malais 12-28-2008 12:56 AM

I need some insurance.

sexandcash 12-28-2008 02:24 AM

I do because I'm 24 and still technically covered by my mother's healthcare...she works for the school system and gets amazing health care.
I'm screwed next year when I turn 25 though and I'll be left at the mercy of my "employers healthcare"....

John-ACWM 12-28-2008 01:52 PM

Not me, but wanted to look into it for a while. I'm interested.

doridori 12-28-2008 02:13 PM

joshuawk 12-28-2008 02:29 PM
