Solutions to duplicate content penalty in Wordpress
 

I read many opinions on this. They were all different. Your opinions here will probably be different too. Here goes:


When you make a new post that content shows up on the main page, the 1 post page, and the category page (more than 1 if you have the post in more than 1 category). So, what do you do about the Google duplicate content penalty?

You can use a robots.txt file to block out what you dont want indexed.

don't ever have the same words on more than one page of your site

for instance, if you have "cock sucking beauty", make sure that line is NO WHERE else on your site, otherwise you will get banned instantly!!!

I usually noindex the categories, search results, archives, and paginated pages.

I "let" the bots at the index, the post pages, and the tags, on the tags i utilize exerpts, its very effective.

Thanks. With the exception of the tags plus adding the SEO plugin to tweak the content on the post page this is what I was planning on.

It only fixes it by giving you the option to dis-allow google bots to the category/tag pages via robot.txt

It lets you use slightly different text in the header and different title, meta description, meta keywords.
