Anyone excited about darkfall online?
 

I havent played any mmorpg for a couple of years now, tried a few like tabula rasa, eq2, city of heroes, but none stuck. I used to love Star wars galaxies before they ruined it and I also had a good run with WoW. Since I saw a trailer for darkfall some time ago I have been interested in it and now when we are weeks away from release im pretty excited.

It looks like a fresh game with some innovative ideas like fps style, complete freedom of crafting and house / city building (much like the swg I loved) not your run of the mill mmo and it will be released in Europe on the 22nd of January. I just hope its good so I can immerse myself. MMO games are perfect for the cold Swedish winter!

The game will suck. It is like 7 years in development or something like that...

I think it looks promising and from what beta testers are saying its very good.

The graphics look like shit but to be honest it probably plays fucking awesome. Last batch of MMO's all have had superior graphics but played terrible. This may be promising.

First of all the beta testers are fanboys and they will say to a POS that it is good. Darkfall online is done in Greece by a 'small' team of developers. While they may have some good programming, they need to make a fun game wich involves a lot more than programming - meaning quests, monsters on the map and so on. It is a lot of work and I honestly don't believe that they have the manpower for that.

Add to this the long development period which means that some parts of the code are outdated and you will see what I mean.

I still believe that the game will not be a hit - meaning one of the top MMOs of the year. I am currently playing Warhammer Online and I enjoy it.

That's weird, I've thought that just about all of the ones I've tried since WoW have had terrible graphics, like Warhammer Online.

AOC had amazing graphics- terrible. WAR has great graphics-IMO terrible. WOW is outdated period. There really is no hope for MMO's for a while. Ill play darkfall with friends it may be good or terrible but who cares.

Fanboys are everywhere but beta testers are not always that. Remember during the beta phase of warhammer online? People bashed it like a pinata.
