Gifts given to me-

Tuffy Tuffin <-- a koala adopted in my name from the Koala Preservation Society
2 goats <-- purchased for 2 families in Rawanda in my name
4 rabbits <-- purchased in my name for 2 families in Zimbabwe
50 chicks <-- purchased in my name for needy families in the Dominican Republic
4 shoves, 4 hoes and seeds <-- purchased in my name to help families in Guatamala
6 soccer balls <-- purchased in my name for children in Zalingei, West Darfur
1 aging/ailing Dog at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary <-- I am it's angel parent this year

I was also given a painting done by an elephant at exotic world gifts. As you can see, this Christmas was about helping as many people as we could, and this was the most rewarding Holiday I have ever been blessed to receive.

I understand what you mean, but actually it's quite the contrary. These gifts are sustainable. For instance, the chicken are kept for their eggs, also, they are taught to use their waste for fertilizer. The goats are all for milk. Not only can the milk help sustain a family, but they can also sell the extra milk so that the kids can go to school and buy books. Admittedly, the rabbits are for their meat, however, these families are also given classes so that they learn to breed them, and the meat is sustainable (we all know how fast rabbits reproduce).
That is the point of all this. Not just a hand out, but truly a hand up. These small gifts can change a families life around.

A great place to learn more
