I used to own it when it was called the CAR-15. Built it piece by piece through the mail. The only part that needed to be registered was the receiver. I even made my own rounds.
AR-15 looks way better
m4 anyday
I have had the AR-15 for years, tends to jam if you don't take real good car of it.
Isn't the AR15 more of a general purpose gun vs the M4 is more CQC/ special forces?
Personally I'd rathr have a modded M1A1 http://www.vltor.com/images/SocomGre...und615x432.jpg (link hotton) |

ive got a bushmaster ar15 and couldnt be happyer with it

Go with the AR-15. M4 is all visual. |
Ar-15 pls
Aren't all M's notoriously jam-prone?
There is no "real" difference between the two. The M4 is basically an AR15/M16 with a collapsible stock and 14'' barrel.
You can buy a 14'' barrel for an AR15. You can also buy a collapsible stock for an AR15. 0.02 |

Are AK-47s legal in the US?
Mike....pick up a Russian/or Chinese AK-47.....along with an AR-15 (make sure to get the .308 caliber as well as the .223 caliber Bushmasters)
Also be sure to pick up at least 10 composite (carbon or plastic) 30-round magazines for each gun. Steel will not last for 30 years.....make sure to oil the springs once a year. Also pick up a Saiga 12-gauge semi automatic. |

Yes its ugly, finish isn't perfect but sounds & shouts very well :thumbsup Personally i preffer this one (i don't know the export name or if its exported). |
Do that many people not like you that you have to pack that kind of fire power? lol
Uncle Sam spent a lot of money to make sure I knew how to use the M-16... thus I am partial to the AR-15. I've never touched the M4, so can't really compare.
I still want to find a good M1 to make all nice and shiny! |
get m both ;)

I'd go for the AR-15 just because not all gunfire exchange is done at short to medium distances. You can shoot accurately to about 6" at 600 yards with an AR-15. The M4 is only that accurate out to 250 - 350 yards and takes a lot more control and tighter positions.
yes i see them agreeing with me. they also buy for sport shooting, while I do, I buy for investmant.
Armalite AR-10 (t) modified is a great distance rifle with high accuracy. Works good up close as well. IMHO.
any good video of Uzi's?
You can still pick up a nice FAL or L1A1 a lot cheaper.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_FAL 7.62 x 51 (308) is a helluva lot better round than the .223 and the FAL's are a very accurate well made rifle. |
I'd go for a nice piston AR. Doesn't matter which lower you get. I'm really diggin the ones from Lewis Machine Tool and LWRC. You can fire a few magazines worth of ammo, pop out the bolt carrier, and hold it up to your face. Piston ARs run that cool.
