Apple decides to go DRM free
http://www.xbiz.com/news/103334
I never used i-tunes so I don't even know how that worked. Your thoughts? |
Anything that Apple decides to open for free, it's fuckin' awesome!
|
a nice decision
|
Does that mean I can download DRM free versions of what I have previously bought?

That's good, because half my iTunes library is asking me to de-authorize a computer, because I've had so many builds, it thinks I'm on my 6th computer now.
I wonder if that will get fixed for me. |
From Apple:
"It?s also easy to upgrade your iTunes library to iTunes Plus. You don?t have to buy the song or album again. Just pay the 30¢ per song upgrade price. (Music video upgrades are 60¢ and entire albums can be upgraded for 30 percent of the album price.) " Mother Fuckers! |
This is a great thing. I was buying my music off Amazon(cheaper, no DRM)- when I needed to actually BUY music... heh heh. Screw the DRM crap. If I buy a song I should be able to put it wherever and play it on whatever I want. Also, iTunes is lowering prices.

This is the trouble with Apple. They actually listen to their consumers.

Good decision.
In the end, good business always boils down to giving the customer what they want. |
I'm kind of surprised it was even ever DRM'd, I see that as a HUGE turn off.
As I mentioned I never bought anything from I-tunes and wasn't even checking that, would never buy mp3's if there was DRM cause if the music won't play in my mp3 player and won't play in my Car (I use to plug my mp3 player over there) then it doesn't make much sense. |
