Anyone here using Windows 7 beta yet?

Is it stable at all?

I want to try it... the only programs I really use are office, photoshop, visual studio and firefox / ie

I'm just worried about it crashing all the time

collegeboobies 01-08-2009 07:11 PM

My friend uses it, says its fast

liqqwid 01-08-2009 07:24 PM

it's not suppose to come out till next friday....it was scheduled for beta release later this year, but it was already leaked online, so they moved the launch to next friday...my guess is that because of the early release its not going to be as stable and quite buggy...

have it on an older machine, looks very vista but with a face lift :2 cents:

I have only installed and not spent any time trying to install programs or testing it.

Hopefully this weekend.

I thought fawkedup foo said he was using it a few weeks back and gave you his 2 cent commentary on it.

pamon 01-09-2009 11:44 PM

it crashed Microsoft's servers today and they're adding capacity... bigger hit then they thought. 2.5mm limit on the d/l's. looks interesting. 2GB download though.

jakethedog 01-09-2009 11:57 PM

looking more and more like OSX .. But i will never go back to PC ..

Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal?we?re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We?re sorry for the delay and we?ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.

I think this one is gonna be good though, I have a good feeling about Windows 7, I have a good feeling about the year 2009 too

xmas13 01-10-2009 02:57 AM

Shepherd and sheep. :2 cents:

munki 01-10-2009 05:55 AM

I have it up for a few hours now and am loving it so far.

Only hangup was a manual install on my X-Fi sound card, everything else was smooth as silk. Doing a few tests to compare it to my old setup in things like renders, photoshop batching, etc... and this fucker is extremely streamlined.

I was happy with vista... I've got the machine to run it properly, upgrading to 7 is night and day speed day difference.

silvija 01-10-2009 06:09 AM

I have Windows XP Pro Sp2
