Do you get a 1099 or w2?

Who uses a W2 instead of a 1099. I remember getting one or two... I know this is very vague but I was hoping gfy could give me the answer without me emailing everyone I have links up for and waiting until Monday for a reply.

If you know who sends you a W2 instead of a 1099 I would appreciate it. Thanks

If you work for an emplyer that takes taxes from you (i.e McDonalds) you will get a W2.

If you work as an affiliate sending sales, you will get a 1099.

Where have you been? Not sending many sales in the last 5 years or so huh? :1orglaugh

To be fair 9.5 out of 10 sponsors do not send out 1099's either.
Though the request is pretty damn funny and a bit more funny when you add it to the oil purchase threads.

I could have swore I got 1 W2 last year.

As for the oil threads, it seems commodities are not sold without taking possession unless you buy futures. It seems you can't just buy a contract for the rights to 1000 barrels and sit on it like I want to - however, I'll keep asking in case I'm wrong. For the most part all I really expect is more people telling me I want futures when I really don't.
