Dear Phoenix Forum Organizers

We have never been able to actually stay in the main hotel for this show so I made it my mission this year and scored the rooms needed. Unfortunately it is a requirement to have a 3 night minimum stay the nights required being April 2, 3, and 4. Us, as a company like to leave the last day of the show which is the 4th. Why are you making it a requirement to stay the extra day? I know I am not the only one pissed about this and would like to know if there is any way to get this policy changed so we can go home when the show is over which is the 4th NOT the 5th.

WiredGuy 02-03-2009 01:59 PM

I think it has to do with the hotel being allocated to the Phx Forum exclusively and the hotel needs 3 night minimums rather than the organizers of the show. That's just my guess though.

you'd think, even in this tough economic time, they would WANT people to come to the show.....adding an extra day and "forcing" people to stay longer or pay more WILL make some people second guess coming to the forum...

OR

pay the extra day, badges are FREE!!!

I think the rooms are like $260 a night, def not worth staying the extra night and having to pick up passes for a lot of people

Just Mike 02-03-2009 02:04 PM

yeah that xtra day thing turned me off too

Ozarkz 02-03-2009 02:05 PM

I got $10 on WiredGuy. Blame the hotel.

Internext Florida is also a closed hotel. We leave the last day of the show.

baddog 02-03-2009 02:08 PM

There seem to be a lot of events on the 4th. I just figured since the hotel was being used it had to be paid for.

Starwood hotels are usually quite flexible though. They usually only require 1 night charge to hold the room at the time of booking as opposed to 2-3 nights like Mission Palms.

JenniDahling 02-03-2009 02:09 PM

How about you stay the extra day and me and ImortylPussycat will run around topless in your room. I can even bring bungee cords if you want.

corvette 02-03-2009 02:11 PM

hi, when we reserve the hotel to where they cant take any guests unless they are part of the forum, we are then responsible for the occupancy of it for the full time we are there and one of the reasons there was a min. 3 night stay was to lessen the exposure of the forum having to pay out of our pocket for rooms nobody is staying in(versus guests booking into other hotels that can accommodate a 1 or 2 night stay). However, with the mission palms, I think they are flexible on the 3 nights you can stay.

SiMpLe 02-03-2009 02:13 PM

See the thing is too... A few of us (nscash crew) are checking in on the 31st and the rest on the 1st so the min 3 days thing is covered - Just not the right days. :upsidedow

I'd rather give the wasted $1040 to Rho for new shoes than the hotel/show we won't even be at. :disgust

You know she'll be putting the manager at the hotel in a headlock to accomplish that goal now :)

I have a weakness for shoes I admit it and I am totally ok with it

RP Fade 02-03-2009 02:28 PM

2 nights/days is plenty imo...I dont understand why it is REQUIRED to stay 3 days. If anything, raise the room a little and make it ok to stay for 2 days, and cheaper per night for 3 days. I'm cool with that but not everyone goes to shows for 3 days.

12clicks 02-03-2009 02:51 PM

here's an idea, don't come. :winkwink:
The hotel is sold out.

They quoted me 275 a night plus tax. :disgust

I asked them about that since the TPF site said $265. There is a $10.95 Hospitality Fee (whether you use or not) that is added before the taxes. So, $275.95 + tax.

seems weird you can't get out of the 4th when you guys are getting in early and paying the total needed anyways. not like they can't book your rooms for that night off the wait list :Oh crap take the shoes and run i say!

OK that makes sense - not that I agree with such fee's but well it explains it.

They are not flexible on the three nights. I wanted to stay overnight on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd and check out on 4th, but they told me the contract had to be for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Of course now that forces me to stay over four nights total if I want to fly in on the 1st or to get up early and leave the morning of the 2nd or go to another more inexpensive hotel on the 1st. Either way it's costing extra money.

we are clearing that up with the hotel right now. they require a 3 night stay and it can start on wed or thur, so it can be wed/thu/fri, if you so choose

so if you want to adjust your stay, i suggest you wait a few min and call the hotel back, we should all be on the same page by then, and rebook for a day earlier
