GM talks of pulling out of Canada
Nice move on General Motor's part - threatening the CAW union by saying they'd consider pulling all operations out of Canada.
Oddly enough - now the CAW seems willing to co-operate (surprise, surprise). Story http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...hub=TopStories |

Unions has it's pros and cons, without them the man would make you work for 10 bucks a hour and no benefits.
I'll always be grateful to mine, they fought Compo for me a few times and got my job back.would have cost me thousands.I won every time with them covering my back Not all Unions are greedy |

Up the unions. |
Sounds good... won't be buying a GM car ever anyways. Go Honda!

are the wages cheaper in canada? otherwise they should just move it and start a non-union side of the company for new plant, get some US jobs going again.
help them, help the unemployed, move towards less union control. |
Good, I don't like my tax dollars going to bailout GM. Let them move out.

I have been both union, and management when in telco. I can tell you there is definitely a REASON there is a need for unions. Walmart is a perfect example, and I could go on and on about the shady bullshit management would pull, plot, and try over my better part of a decade and experience. But I digress... |
