Can someone explain the end of American Psycho to me?

Don't think they clarified well at the end.

Nah, it was the Director of Photography that set him off, and the judge let him off the hook because the unprofessional treatment made them justifiable homocides. It's one of those movies where you have to wait 'til all the credits run to see the conclusion.

Well you see he hosted pirated content on his servers and the stress and guilt from all of this turned him into a crazed psychotic killer!

It's one of those movies that has a different ending for every one of us :winkwink: Bale was awesome in 'El Maquinista' :thumbsup

I've heard two ideas, and i don't think the second one makes any damn sense.
1- he didn't actually kill anyone, it was all in his sick addled brain. evidenced by the fact that the first guy he "killed" was seen in
another city by a college.
2- he killed all kinds of people and the college who was sighted was a mistake. They ARE after all, constantly mistaking eachother for other people.

Yes. Most of the movie is in his head. He was a multi-personality schizophrenic. The guy he killed with the axe in his apartment was one of those personalities if not the main or real personality. After killing him off and that is when the chaos ensued. Remember at the end, talking to his lawyer in that restaurant? His lawyer knew him as Paul Allen, the guy he killed (alter ego), not as Patrick Bateman.
